'The Agency' To Come Online in November

Paramount+ and Showtime have officially confirmed that their newest show, The Agency, will arrive before the end of 2024. Initially announced in early 2023 under the title The Department, the series is an English-language remake of the French hit The Bureau, and was initially billed as the successor to Showtime's major hit, Homeland. However, with the growing success of English language remakes of the Walter Presents series, Showtime is now leaning more heavily into the idea this is their grand remake of a French spy series, studded with A-list actors from both sides of the pond.

For those who have not mosied over to AMC+ to check out The Bureau (Le Bureau des Legendes), the original series centers on the daily life and missions of agents within France's principal external security service and its "Bureau of Legends," which is made up of deep-cover agents on long-term missions who live under false identities for years.

The Agency resets this same concept within the American CIA (hence the name), featuring the same character, Mathieu Kassovitz, whose experience kicks off the French series when he's ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to Paris after over a decade in Syria, only to have it refuse to be left behind. In this case, it's American, now renamed Martian, stationed in the same area but ordered to return to London.
