Emma Myers to Lead BBC Adaptation of 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder'

However you feel about the overall quality of Netflix's recent Addams Family adjacent series Wednesday, it's hard to deny that Emma Myers was one of the best things about the show, high praise considering that her character — Wednesday's sunny, extroverted werewolf roommate — was one of the series' weirdest and most unexpected swerves. (I had my fair share of issues with that show, and I loved the heck out of her performance.) Now, the breakout actress is set to lead a series of her own, toplining the BBC's upcoming adaptation of the bestselling A Good Girl's Guide to Murder trilogy of novels.

Holly Jackson's YA mystery follows the story of Pip Fitz-Amobi, a young true-crime enthusiast determined to discover the truth about her small town's most infamous death. Five years ago, a brutal murder-suicide rocked the fictional town of Fairview, in which popular student Andie Bell was allegedly killed by her boyfriend Sal Singh, who was ultimately accused of the crime before seemingly taking his own life. Pip, who was childhood friends with Sal, is convinced he was falsely accused, and she is the only person who can uncover the real killer, whom she believes is still out there.

Myers will play the "smart and single-minded" Pip alongside newcomer Zain Iqbal as Sal's younger brother Ravi. The two will join forces to discover the truth and clear Sal's name, uncover shocking evidence and interview key players.
