BBC Three's Witchy Supernatural Drama 'Domino Day' Needs to Come to America ASAP

Almost anyone who has watched a great deal of British television will agree that BBC Three supernatural dramas are a unique breed. From Being Human and The Fades to In the Flesh and Wreck, there's nothing conventional or predictable about these tales of vampires, werewolves, zombies, and ghosts. In these boundary-pushing series, their supernatural elements are almost always larger metaphors for real-life problems and journeys.

Next to join this grand tradition is Domino Day, a deliciously dark and unabashedly feminist drama about twenty-first-century witchcraft, From its initial description and images, it is clear that the show has serious Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Charmed vibes, and conceptually feels like a worthy successor to the many excellent BBC Three supernatural offerings that have come before it.

Set in modern-day Manchester, the series follows the story of the titular Domino (Siena Kelly), a young woman who spends all her time on dating apps. But she's not looking for a soulmate or even a quick hook-up. No, she's swiping right to hunt. A powerful witch who doesn't understand the extent of her own abilities, all Domino knows is that she needs to feed off of the energy of others to survive. And if she has to hurt someone, then what better target could there be than unsavory, even dangerous men? Men who probably deserve to be punished?
