The Chapmans Put Rachita in Their Sights in 'D.I. Ray's "Staying on Top"

Believe it or not, things are heating up even more on D.I. Ray as Rachita Ray finally closes in on putting all the puzzle pieces of Frank Chapman's murder together. Our lead investigator has doubted Rav Mochani's involvement in the murder since she spoke to him in Episode 3; however, she became convinced of his innocence after she was threatened to drop the investigation by a hooded man in the penultimate episode. While the encounter rattled Rachita, she's more determined than ever to figure out what is going on.

At least one piece of the puzzle has been sorted out. Rav Mochani wasn't bringing in children from India for sex trafficking. He brought in a specific child to be a potential organ donor for Amara Choudry's (Dinita Gohil) daughter, Jasmine, who has a terminal kidney disorder. Rav and his sister were working on bringing in a donor for Jasmine in exchange for Amara getting them the bounty contract with the revenue department. Frank Chapman reached out to Rav to see if they could share the contract and was using his leverage of the Jasmine situation to leverage the Mochanis into a partnership.

Now that Frank's connection to the Mochanis is more evident, there is still the question of who would want Frank dead. A well-timed interview with Susie Chapman (Lauren Drummond) and a subsequent search of the Chapman-owned pawn shop led to finding a piece of the gun that was used to initially shoot Frank. That confirmed that the call was definitely coming from inside the Chapman house, and now Rachita will take an even better look at Susie, who is now running the family business.
