Everything British Streaming on PBS for March 2026

Our monthly rundown of everything British coming to PBS and PBS Passport for March 2026.

Everything British Streaming on PBS for March 2026
The Forsytes Key Art (Masterpiece)

After the brutalness of February comes March, famous for coming in like a lion but leaving like a lamb. Though traditionally the month front-loads all its drama to qualify for lionhood, on PBS it's the other way around. The first half of March is Spring pledge season, which means that the last of the winter shows wrap up in the first few days. (This year, it's the Nature series Parenthood, narrated by David Attenborough, that gets to conclude the winter offerings.) Then it's nothing but Walter Presents debuts until the final weekends of the month.

However, this year's Spring pledge drive is quite possibly the most important one in decades. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting was disbanded in January 2026, and while public media stations knew this was coming, there's a difference between theory and practice. This is the first time in history that your local stations will be soliciting donations during their membership drive without the backing of CPB undergirding their efforts.

To that end, PBS Passport is busier than usual, as stations work to make the streaming service more attractive to members during the pledge season. As always, Call the Midwife's early release schedule is already underway, with new episodes streaming on PBS Passport on Fridays. Here's what else will be arriving in March 2026.

The Count of Monte Cristo

Masterpiece tends to be very selective about which of its Sunday shows get early release. There are good reasons for this – for every show that gets an early release on PBS Passport, that's one less viewer watching the linear channel debut. Therefore, the early releases tend to be sure things: Miss Scarlet over Christmas, for example, or Sanditon when it was on the air. That's why it's a bit of a surprise (and quite a vote of confidence) that The Count of Monte Cristo landed an early streaming debut. The new adaptation stars Sam Claflin as the titular Count, Edmond Dantès, and Jeremy Irons as Abbé Faria.

All six episodes of The Count of Monte Cristo debut on Sunday, March 1, on PBS Passport as an early release benefit for members. Non-members will be able to watch the series when it debuts later in the month alongside the debut of The Forsytes and the linear airings of Call the Midwife on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 10 p.m. ET on the PBS app and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel.

Downton Abbey Seasons 1-6

The third and final Downton Abbey film will land on streaming this month, though sadly not on PBS Passport; it's heading to Netflix. However, that has prompted NBC Universal to offer all six seasons of the original series to PBS for the occasion.

For those who do not have Peacock and want to re-watch the adventures of the Crawley family, PBS Passport is adding all episodes back to their service starting Sunday, March 1, 2026.

Paradise (Il Paradiso Delle Signore) Season 10

We were on hiatus when Paradise (Il Paradiso Delle Signore) Season 9 arrived on PBS Passport in late 2025. But don't worry if you missed it because of our absence; as regular readers will recall, "Season 9" is actually Season 3, Episodes 41-50. "Season 10" continues to break the now-daytime soap into ten-episode chunks and is once again pulling from the show's third season, with Episodes 51-60. For those who managed to survive the rough transition when the show changed formats and are still watching, that means there's up to 20 new episodes to binge.

All ten episodes of Paradise Season 10 will debut on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel starting Friday, March 6, 2026.

Helsinki Crimes (Harjunpää) Season 2

Walter Presents first introduced Helsinki Crimes (Harjunpää) back towards the end of 2024, not long after Season 2 had concluded in its native Finland. It's not exactly clear why it took nearly 18 months for Season 2 to come to our shores – perhaps Walter and company were holding out hope that there might be another season of mystery-of-the-week episodes based on the novels by the late Matti-Yrjana Joensuu. However, that doesn't seem to be happening, so the second and final season starring Olli Rahkonen as the novel's detective, Timo Harjunpaa, has now shipped over.

All six episodes of Helsinki Crimes Season 2 will debut on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel starting Friday, March 13, 2026

Winter Palace

We first reported on the series Winter Palace back towards the end of 2023, when it was a joint co-production with Netflix and Swiss broadcaster RTS. Netflix billed it as an Edwardian-set "Downton Abbey meets The White Lotus," focusing on ambitious proprietor André Morel, who, with the help of the wealthy Lord Fairfax, creates the first five-star luxury hotel in the Alps to remain open throughout winter. However, the series never made it to this side of the pond on the global streaming service; in fact, it disappeared from the conversation completely in the years that followed. Whatever behind-the-scenes shenanigans occurred, the show has finally found its way over to the U.S. with Walter Presents.

All eight episodes of Winter Palace will debut on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel starting Friday, March 20, 2026.

The Forsytes Season 1

In what turned out to be a moment of very fortuitous timing, Masterpiece's newest series (and biggest swing for the fences since Sanditon), The Forsytes, arrives this month. For those who don't know their PBS history, the original 1967 adaptation of John Galsworthy's famous novels was what put PBS Sunday night period dramas on the map, and directly led to the creation of the Masterpiece brand. PBS remade the series once already, in 2002, with the BBC as a co-producer. For the newest remake, aimed at bringing in a new generation of viewers, Masterpiece has partnered with Channel 5 (also the co-producer of All Creatures), in hopes that the Forsyte magic can once more anchor public broadcasting in its hour of need and create a viable path for another 50 years on air.

The Forsytes Season 1 will debut on most PBS stations, the PBS app, and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel at 9 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 22, 2026, and stream/air weekly through the end of April. All six episodes will be available on PBS Passport on release day for members to binge. Season 2 is already in production.

Call the Midwife Season 15

For those who have been watching Call the Midwife's weekly early-release episodes on PBS Passport, the series will be rounding out its final installments by the end of March. However, for those who are not members of their local PBS stations, the linear airings of everyone's favorite period medical drama will join The Forsytes and The Count of Monte Cristo as a lead-in to the two new series.

Call the Midwife arrives on most local PBS stations, the PBS app, and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 22, 2026, and streams with weekly episodes through the end of April.

Ena: Queen Victoria Eugenia (Ena - La Reina Victoria Eugenia)

Walter Presents' final series for March is the Spanish-language Ena: Queen Victoria Eugenia (Ena - La Reina Victoria Eugenia). The series covers the life of Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg, the youngest of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's granddaughters, who grew up to marry King Alfonso XIII and become the Queen of Spain during the Edwardian era. She gave birth to seven children (two of whom had haemophilia) before the family was deposed and sent into exile in 1931. The series traces all that, plus her support of the Red Cross and the Allied cause in exile, and the eventual restoration of the monarchy.

All six episodes of Ena - Queen Victoria Eugenia will debut on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel starting Friday, March 27, 2026.
