'Good Omens' Season 2 Will Be a Family Affair

Most viewers likely aren't sure what to expect from the second season of Prime Video's Good Omens. Yes, the series's first season was wall-to-wall wonderful, an adaptation of the beloved Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett novel of the same name that felt like it really understood why the relationship between the bookish angel Aziraphale and the caustic demon Crowley has remained so popular for so long. But it also basically exhausted the original's source material. The Anti-Christ was contained, the apocalypse averted, and our favorite angel and demon duo have time for lunch at the Criterion afterward. Huzzah!

However, since its lead characters are also technically immortal, so perhaps we shouldn't be but so surprised to see another chapter in their adventures. Stars David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Michael Sheen (Vardy v. Rooney: A Courtroom Drama) are back, along with the bulk of the first season's cast, including Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Doon Mackichan (Two Doors Down) as Michael, Gloria Obianyo (Dune) as Uriel,and Derek Jacobi (Last Tango in Halifax) as the Metatron. Nina Sosanya (Staged), Maggie Service (Quiz), and Miranda Richardson (And Then There Were None) will all be playing new characters this time around, and several new faces will also be joining the canvas.

But, in an odd twist that only seems to ever happen on shows whose casts are predominantly British, Good Omens Season 2 will be something of a family affair, as several of Tennant's relatives will also be joining him onscreen. Both his father-in-law Peter Davison (Call the Midwife) and eldest son Ty Tennant (House of the Dragon) will reportedly be part of the cast. No official details on their roles have yet been released, but the younger Tennant is reportedly playing a character named Ennon, while Davison has been cast as a character named Alistair.
