Part of the fun of watching big costume dramas like Downton Abbey or Bridgerton is seeing what the cast gets up to when their time wearing period dress has come to an end. In the years since Downton transferred to the big screen, former stars like Dan Stevens and Lily James have landed everything from big-budget Disney films (Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella) to prestige television gigs (The Terror, Pam & Tommy).

Bridgerton is heading into its fourth season on Netflix, which means its current stars don't necessarily have the time for numerous other projects. But some of the previous leads do. Rege-Jean Page, who played the hunky Duke of Hastings, was a knight in a Dungeons & Dragons movie; new Vicountess Bridgerton Simone Ashley has a charming rom-com (Picture This) out over on Prime Video; and her on-screen husband Jonathan Bailey is currently starring as Richard II in London's West End. But it's Phoebe Dynevor, who played eldest daughter Daphne Bridgerton, who seems to enjoy choosing roles that feel quite far afield from the Regency heroine that made her famous.

She starred in the steamy Netflix thriller Fair Play last year, and her latest project, Inheritance, is set to arrive on AMC+ this summer. The film, an espionage thriller, sees Dynevor play Maya, a young woman who discovers her father is a spy and the pair becomes embroiled in an international conspiracy. Shot entirely on an iPhone, the film's gritty, hyper-realistic style follows Maya through New York City, Cairo, New Delhi, and Seoul as she searches for both answers and her absentee father (played by Rhys Ifans from Our Flag Means Death).
