'The Sandman' Season 2 Trailer Goes to Hell and Back

“Everyone loves a good story, but all stories come to an end," Death intones in the trailer for The Sandman's second and final season. But if the clip is anything to go by, Netflix's adaptation of the DC Comics classic is set to go out with a bang.

The drama stars Tom Sturridge (Irma Vep) as Dream, also known as Morpheus, one of the seven immortal beings known as the Endless, who are essentially personifications of various aspects of human reality. The series' first season saw Dream taken prisoner by a mortal occultist and held captive for much of a century before escaping, searching for his stolen totems of power across various realms, and returning to the damaged Dream world he had left behind.

Episode descriptions indicate that the series' final outing will cover a plethora of major moments from across the comics run, including Season of Mists, The Kindly Ones, Brief Lives, and The Sandman: Overture arcs, along with standalone stories like “Tales in the Sand,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “The Song of Orpheus,” “Thermidor,” and “The Tempest". This means that we will most likely get to see everything from the infamous family dinner in which the Endless are reunited and Dream's journey into Hell to save Nada's soul, to his reunion with his estranged son Orpheus, and his face-off with a triad of Furies. Could we get a surprise appearance from Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland (of Dead Boy Detectives fame)? It's possible!
