BritBox To Premiere 'An Interview with Brian Cox' As 'Succession' Draws To A Close

Brian Cox (the Scottish actor, not the Scottish astrophysicist) has worked on stage and TV since the early 1960s. A classically trained Shakespearean performer, he has multiple accolades, including Oliviers, Emmys, Golden Globes, Screen Actor Guild awards, not to mention an Order of the British Empire. However, the current role making him a household name is that of Logan Roy, the patriarch in HBO's hit series Succession, a British-ish show written and directed by the U.K.'s Jesse Armstrong and inspired by the Murdoch clan's News of the World scandal, which gripped the British public in the early 2010s.

Succession's fourth season debuted on March 26, 2023. It was announced as its final run of episodes, which was a telling declaration, as the series — which is about Logan's three children by his second wife (Harriet Walter) fighting for the right to succeed their father as CEO of the company he built, Waystar RoyCo — could only end when their sire passed. With his death scene all but certain and the series debut timed perfectly for Emmy voters, the campaign to promote this as one of the crowning glories of his career is already on.

To that end, he sat with Scottish TV and radio presenter Amy Irons for an hour-long interview about his life and career. That special, An Interview with Brian Cox, will stream in the U.S. on BritBox. Check out the trailer below.
