Antonin Carême life has gotten more complicated as his successes compound. So much happened in Episode 5, "The Contest"! It started off slowly with Antonin mourning Bailly's arrest and the loss of the shop that he thought of as home. But once Talleyrand announced he was hosting France's ultimate culinary competition, things picked up as Carême decided to compete. Unfortunately, his lapin à l'istrettu failed; however, his dish was still enough to secure him the title of best cook. But all that paled in the face of romance as Antonin and Agathe's first kiss happened after Antonin told Agathe that he was leaving, and he was leaving the kitchen to her.
