Shortly before the release of Season 4 of Sherlock, the rumor mill about when Benedict Cumberbatch would hang up his deerstalker was back in full force.

Would Season 4 be the end for the great detective? Who knows? And now it's been eleven years since Season 4 aired in 2017.

For those of you who don't know, Sherlock star Cumberbatch was all over the press before the release, as the promotional schedule for his upcoming Marvel film Doctor Strange kicked into gear. He was featured on the cover of both Vanity Fair and British GQ, and gave interviews chatting about filming, life in general, and of course, the popular drama's upcoming fourth season. Apparently he was also hinting that after Season 4 concludes, it may be awhile before we see the famous sleuth again.
