Filming Begins on 'Geek Girl' Season 2

It took Netflix nearly a year after its first season concluded to announce that its British teen drama Geek Girl would be back for Season 2, but at least now that it’s official, it looks as though the production isn’t wasting any time. Filming is underway on the show’s second outing in London, and the streamer celebrated by dropping some adorable table read photos of the show’s new and returning cast members.

Based on Holly Smale’s internationally bestselling novels, Geek Girl follows the story of socially awkward teenager Harriet Manners, who is thrust into the cutthroat world of high fashion when she’s discovered by a modeling agent while on a school trip. Her life is subsequently turned upside down when she’s chosen to be part of a high-profile advertising campaign, and she must suddenly navigate everything from jealous competition and unexpected runway disasters to new tensions with the old friends who feel she’s actively choosing to leave them behind. Luckily, her growing crush on the cute fellow model, Nick Park, is an excellent distraction.

Emily Carey, best known for her turn as a young Alicent Hightower on House of the Dragon, stars as Harriet, opposite Liam Woodrum (Based on a True Story) as the dishy Nick. They’ll be joined by Bad Education’s Layton Williams, who is playing a character named Onassis. (Little information is known about the role as yet, but we’re all assuming he’ll be joining Harriet’s world of modeling and schoolwork.
