'Miss Scarlet' Will Return for a Sixth Season
The mystery of whether we'd see more of the newly reimagined MIss Scarlet has been swiftly solved. Just days after its Season 5 finale, Masterpiece has announced that the drama has officially been renewed for a sixth outing, with production set to begin this month in Belgrade, Serbia.
Obviously, this means Kate Phillips (Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the LIght) will be back to play Eliza Scarlet, alongside Tom Durant Pritchard (This is Going to Hurt) as her new partner DI Alexander Blake. As the once-fraught relationship between the two continues to evolve, they discover that working together may be a tricky prospect. Given that the last scene of Season 5 sure felt like a date, it's easy to wonder whether the new episodes will just bypass the will they/won't they stuff entirely and just jump straight into a relationship. Eliza/Blake has been proceeding at warp speed when compared to the snail's pace of Eliza/William, so it wouldn't be all that surprising, if you ask me.
Elsewhere, newlyweds Ivy and Potts adjust to married life, a new detective settles in at Scotland Yard, and Nash causes chaos, even from across the globe. Season 6 will also finally see the greatly anticipated return of Moses Valentine, who swoops in to help Eliza and her crew, just when they need him most.
