‘All Creatures Great & Small’ Season 7 Set for January 2027
'All Creatures Great & Small' Season 7 will debut on the second Sunday of January 2027, just like it always does.
Despite the streaming revolution’s push to destroy appointment television, PBS and Masterpiece have never wavered in their belief that TV shows should debut new seasons promptly if they expect audiences to keep tuning in. This steadfast conviction is why All Creatures Great & Small has been a dependable little slice of comfort every January, ever since its premiere in the doldrums of 2021.
Masterpiece has reliably debuted shows in that same spot on the calendar every year since the 1970s, so the announcement that All Creatures Season 7 would debut on the second Sunday of January 2027 isn’t exactly news. But for those people who currently feel like the hot, sticky misery of August will never end (me, hi, I’m people), it’s a relief to know a soft, cool breeze will blow in from the Yorkshire Dales soon enough.
While the show’s yearly debut remains unchanged, however, life on screen in the Dales is about to undergo a radical reinvention. After three seasons covering the war years in Yorkshire, Season 7 will open in 1946. World War II may be over, but one of the U.K.’s economically worst years lies ahead. (The Marshall Plan, which restarted the European economy, wasn’t signed until 1947, and the average U.K. resident didn’t feel its effects until closer to 1950.) But even if times are hard around them, we fully expect the residents of Skeldale House to face the future bravely, even as the mainstay of its business model – healthcare for working farm animals – is upended by the arrival of modern machinery.
It’s a time of transition and change, which for some will feel like a fresh start. But then, there’s Siegfried Farnon, the man who hates change and has thus far handled all transitions to a more modern way of life with the grace of a five-year-old told it’s bathtime. Lucky for him, he’ll have company, as the first images suggest both the Herriot children are currently about the same age.

All Creatures Great & Small returns viewers to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales in 1946. With the war finally over, Skeldale House is full once again and livelier than ever as our beloved characters reunite under one roof and look ahead to a hopeful new chapter. James is excited about new developments in veterinary medicine, but a new vet in the area threatens the status quo. The world at large may be changing, but inside this slice of Yorkshire, the Dales will always offer the same perfect escapism.
Packed with warmth, humor and community spirit, the season brings more heartwarming tales of people and animals alike.
Gaia Wise, Callum Woodhouse, and Dora the Dog in 'All Creatures Great & Small' Season 7 (Masterpiece)
Season 7 stars the series usual core ensemble of Nicholas Ralph and Rachel Shenton as James and Helen Harriot; Samuel West and Callum Woodhouse as Siegfried and Tristan Farnon; Tony Pitts and Imogen Clawson as Richard and Jenny Alderson; Anna Madeley and Patricia Hodge as Mmes Hall and Pumphrey; and Dora as the adored, pampered Pekingese, Tricki-Woo. Also back for Season 7: Mollie Winnard as barmaid Maggie, Maimie McCoy as Dorothy, and Gaia Wise as Charlotte.
The new season will introduce Caolan McCarthy (Belfast) as newly arrived rival vet Granville Bennett. Guest stars for the season are expected to be announced in due course.

Writer Neil Jones returns to pen two episodes this season along with Debbie O’Malley, Maxine Alderton, and Kellie Smith. Directors Brian Percival and Andy Hay return to helm episodes, along with new addition Jennie Paddon. Yvonne Francas returns as producer. Percival continues as executive producer, joined by Jones, alongside Colin Callender, Melissa Gallant, and Sharon Moran for Playground; Lauren Jackson and Maartje Horchner for All3Media International; Susanne Simpson for Masterpiece; and Sebastian Cardwell, Paul Testar & Greg Barnett for 5.
All Creatures Great & Small Season 7 will debut on Channel 5 in the U.K. in September 2026, followed by PBS airing and streaming the series in the U.S. beginning Sunday, January 17, 2027.
Seasons 1 through 6 are streaming on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel and for members on PBS Passport. Season 8 is already greenlit.
