Half the fun of being an Angophile these days (or challenge, depending on how much you enjoy sleuthing) is figuring out where some of the series you’ve heard about from across the pond will end up when (or if!) they come to America. But, with so many streamers vying for audiences’ attention nowadays, more British programs than ever before are making their way to us, and some on streamers many likely haven’t heard of before.

Such is the case with the Paramount+ U.K. series Curfew. Obviously, anything coming out of the Paramount Global stable has had a rough go of it in recent years. The bulk of its U.K. slate was canceled, and the streamer yanked many of its existing originals. Most eventually found U.S. homes on various niche services — The Burning Girls, The Killing Kind, The Doll Factory — a handful remain in limbo, even years after their original premieres.

Curfew first aired on Paramount+ U.K. in October 2024, before snagging a terrestrial broadcast on Channel 4 in early 2026. It’s now set to finally reach American audiences... via foreign-language streaming service, MHz Choice, one of the last places most people would look. (Before you ask, yes, the series is in English, and the accents aren’t even all that thick.)

A murder mystery with a dystopian twist, Curfew is set in an alternate Britain where the Women’s Safety Act forces all men to wear 24/7 ankle monitors and remain locked indoors from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. But when a body is discovered on the steps of the Women’s Safety Center, police officer Pamela Green (Industry’s Sarah Parish) is convinced a man has committed the crime. But that should be impossible, shouldn’t it? That’s what everyone wants to believe, at least.

Here’s MHz's version of the series’ synopsis:

A woman’s body is discovered. She has been brutally murdered during the night. Veteran Police officer Pamela believes only a man could have done this. But in a world where men are bound by a curfew from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., her theory is rejected.

Alongside Parish, the series’ cast also includes Mandip Gill (Cooper & Fry), Mitchell Robertson (Mayflies), Larry Lamb (Gavin & Stacey), Anita Dobson (Call the Midwife), Imogen Sandhu (Malpractice), Selorm Adonu (Doctor Who), Amy Louise Pemberton (Eric), Lucy Benjamin (Detectorists), Canadian actor Adam Korson (This Is Us), model and TV presenter Bobby Brazier, X-Factor winner and singer Alexandra Burke, and newcomer Raphael D’Alterio.

Lydia Yeoman (The Desert) was the series lead writer, with Sumerah Srivastav (Missing You) and Jess Green (Holby City) also penning episodes. Director Joasia Goldyn (Britannia) helms all six installments, with John Adams as producer. Executive producers include Allan Niblo, Jane Moore, and Nathalie Peter-Contesse for Vertigo Films.

Curfew will premiere on MHz Choice on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with two episodes, followed by one a week through the beginning of December.
