'Dr. Quinn' Alum Joe Lando Joins 'Harry Wild' Season 5
The seal has officially been broken over on Acorn TV. The most popular of American company AMC Networks' little federation of niche streamers, the originally UK-based service has been very careful since being purchased to stick to its mission of being a home of English language shows from countries outside the U.S. Even as the production house moved further into original programming, it has made sure all new series fit that brief. However, eventually Acorn TV was going to run into the problem of not having enough mid-tier actors famous enough in America to anchor new cozy crime shows. Irish Blood was the first to break from tradition, with American star Alicia Silverstone anchoring the otherwise Ireland-based series. Now, Acorn TV's other big hit, Harry Wild, plans to follow suit.
Irish Blood's smashing success, becoming Acorn TV's most-watched show of all time, proved that not every series needs to be a cast full of overseas accents for audiences to accept them. That's given the green light for Harry Wild also to bring aboard American cast members, allowing the show to reunite British actor Jane Seymour with her favorite American co-star Joe Lando, who starred opposite her as Byron Sully in the 1990s series that made Seymour famous, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.
Lando will debut as part of Harry Wild's fifth season, which was announced earlier in the summer of 2025. He'll play Pierce Kennedy, the new State Pathologist, "a charming and handsome natural ally" for Seymour's Harry, the titular amateur detective. Do we hear a new love interest entering the picture?
