‘Here We Go’ Confirms Filming for Season 4
'Here We Go' has become a Britcom sleeper hit as it heads into Season 4 after its first-ever holiday special.
After landing a Season 4 commission (and its third Christmas special) in mid-2025, the gentle Britcom Here We Go is finally back in production. Originally titled Pandemonium when the backdoor pilot debuted during the 2020 Festive season, the series’ clever conceit is that the present day is viewed through the handheld camera of the Jessop family’s teenage son, Sam. With multicam sitcom-style flashbacks, the show is both a throwback to older sitcoms and a showcase for modern unreliable-narrator storytelling.
As part of the batch of titles that made their way over to BritBox with little fanfare and less marketing during its early-originals era, Here We Go wound up a sleeper hit on both sides of the pond when it debuted as a series in 2022. The BBC granted it a double renewal in 2023; Season 2 followed in 2024. However, by the time Season 3 arrived, ensemble member Katherine Parkinson had become a household name overnight due to Rivals, raising the series’ profile to new heights.
Series creator Tom Basden said in the press release, “Working with such an incredible comedy cast is a pleasure and a privilege, so I’m thrilled to be bringing Here We Go back to the BBC for a fourth time. We’ve only just started shooting but it’s already shaping up to be the best series yet!”

Here’s the Season 4 synopsis:
The fourth series rejoices in the chaos of the Jessop family as they encounter love, loss, jealousy, a graduation, a birthday party, a surprise snail allergy and an eventful ‘fun run.’ Rachel is graduating and taking her first, faltering steps in political protest. Paul continues to struggle on as an undervalued policeman and also turns his hand to some messy painting and decorating. Robin continues his entrepreneurial campaign planning to impress Dragons’ Den while also buying a property he knows very little about. Cherry is trying her best to juggle raising baby Atlas while practicing her newfound Make-Up Artist skills. Amy is looking for a fresh start, a job and some kind of escape from the rest of her family, while Sue is having trouble sleeping but manages to find time to make a lethal home brew. Sam is there to capture all the mess and various disasters up close.

Basden (After Life) once again leads the cast as Robin, with Katherine Parkinson (Rivals) as Rachel, Jim Howick (Ghosts) as Paul, Tori Allen-Martin (Unforgotten) as Cherry, Freya Parks (This Town) as Amy, Alison Steadman (Gavin & Stacey) as Sue, and Jude Morgan-Collie (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder) as Sam. The supporting cast returning for Season 4 includes Mica Ricketts (Best Interests), Ed Kear (Slow Horses), and Jon Furlong (The Last Kingdom).
Basden created the series and continues to act as lead writer, penning all episodes, with director Will Sinclair (Vera) helming. Executive Producers include Basden, Sinclair, Josh Cole, and Steven Canny.
Here We Go Season 4 is currently filming in the U.K. and is expected to launch on the BBC in late 2026 or early 2027, followed by a debut on BritBox.
