‘Shaun the Sheep’ Rounds Out Its Mossy Bottom Cast
It’s a fluffy time on the farm, as the first images from 'Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom' arrive along with the guest cast.
Claymation is a slow process, which is why Aardman Animations releases a feature-length film only once every couple of years. While the studio’s recent forays back into Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit have produced mixed reviews, it’s very hard for anyone to hate Shaun the Sheep. A spinoff from the original Wallace & Gromit shorts starring the sweet sheep from “A Close Shave,” the series has been one of CBBC’s reliable hits alongside Bluey. The newest release, The Beast of Mossy Bottom, is the flock’s third major feature film, and (now that it’s no longer trapped as a straight-to-streaming release on Netflix), looks to be a divine time for the ovine.
The film has released first images, plus additional guest cast members co-starring alongside the usual suspects. In addition, the film will also feature a brand-new remix of Shaun the Sheep’s iconic theme tune, “Life’s A Treat,” by British hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, aka Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule.
The duo was super chuffed in the press release: “I’ve proudly said working with Aardman on the Shaun the Sheep soundtrack is one of my best moments,” said Stephens. “Shaun is just iconic, and the song is a real banger.” Alexander-Sule added, “We grew up watching Wallace & Gromit, so when we were asked to remix Life’s A Treat, it was a very easy decision to make. We had loads of fun in the studio putting a fresh spin on it, and I can’t wait to watch the new film with my kids.”

Here’s the film’s synopsis:
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom sees the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm looking forward to Halloween — until the clumsy Farmer trashes the Flock’s beloved pumpkin patch! When Shaun turns Mad Scientist to fix the problem, things rapidly spiral out of control… With The Farmer missing and a wild beast roaming the woods of Mossingham, all the ingredients are in place for a monstrously fun family adventure.

The new guest cast joining them includes Nina Sosanya (Good Omens), Paul Whitehouse (The Change), and Roman Kemp (Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl).

The film is written by Mark Burton (Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit) and Giles Pilbrow (Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas). Aardman animation collaborators Steve Cox and Matthew Walker co-direct in their feature directorial debut.
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom will debut in U.S. and U.K. theaters on Friday, September 18, 2026.
