'Sister Boniface Mysteries' Season 2 Will Arrive on BritBox In April

On the surface, the cozy mystery series Father Brown, which is based on the G.K. Chesterton novels in which a Roman Catholic priest solves crimes in a quaint English village, seems an unlikely candidate to spawn an interconnected world of spin-offs. Yet, that's precisely what happened with the arrival of Sister Boniface Mysteries last year.

Set in rural Warwickshire in the 1960s, Lorna Watson plays Sister Boniface, a character who only appeared very briefly in the first season of the long-running Mark Williams drama. But her quirky nature and expert skill at forensic science made her stand out immediately. A moped rider, vinter, part-time forensic scientist (and, yes, Bride of Christ), Sister Boniface uses her intellect, her love of detective fiction, and her fully stocked crime lab at St. Vincent's Convent to aid the Great Slaughter Constabulary in their investigations, analyzing everything from blood stains and fiber to poisons, and stains.

The series' first season aired on streaming service  BritBox in early 2022, and now its second is set to arrive this spring. Once again, it will consist of ten episodes and will follow the sleuthing nun as she uses the latest techniques for tracking down killers.
