Nick Mohammed to Host Stage Adaptation of ‘The Traitors’
'The Traitors' will take to the London stage in 2027.
The Traitors is the franchise that keeps on giving. A new all-civilian version of the U.S. series launches in September 2026 with The Traitors: New Blood. A second outing of the U.K. hit The Celebrity Traitors is hot on its heels and boasting some genuinely recognizable famous faces in the line-up. That’s not counting all the other international versions available to stream. But if you’re not content to experience the tension of the turret in the comfort of your own home, you’ll soon be able to see the game in a whole new way: On a stage.
The Traitors — Acts of Betrayal will arrive on the West End next year. The production is technically not one but five separate plays, aiming to answer the question: who would have won if different players had been chosen as the Traitors? The answer shifts throughout the week as each installment changes the game by giving different characters green cloaks. Saturday shows will allow the audience to get involved, choosing in real time which characters will be Traitors and which version of the show they’ll see.
Ted Lasso alum and former Celebrity Traitors finalist Nick Mohammed will serve as host, joining the ranks of Alan Cumming and Claudia Winkleman. One can only guess if his wardrobe will live up to his predecessors.
Here’s the stage show’s description.
A world of paranoia, betrayal and shifting alliances, The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal is a dramatic exploration of the sliding doors of fate, where nothing is certain, and no one is safe.
“At first, I didn’t want to believe that a series of fictional plays based on The Traitors could ever contain as many brilliant twists and turns as the real thing – or be quite as compelling,” Mohammed said in a statement. “But John Finnemore has crafted an absolute masterpiece: a cycle of five plays that are each as funny as they are moving, and of course, deeply, deeply unpredictable....To take on Claudia’s role, as it were, is not just a privilege but a real challenge as an actor – I simply don’t have enough hair. But I will do my utmost not to disappoint. Either way, this time round, I promise not to let down the whole nation right at the very end. Now let the game begin…”
The show is written by John Finnemore (Good Omens, Cabin Pressure) and directed by Robert Hastie (Standing at the Sky’s Edge, Operation Mincemeat). It’s produced by Studio Lambert, makers of The Traitors U.K., and Neal Street Productions.
The Traitors — Acts of Betrayal will premiere in May 2027 at London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre. Tickets are on sale now. Hopefully, the pro-shot will follow on National Theatre at Home.
