‘Last Seen’ Will Appear on Apple TV in September
Patrick Brammall goes from 'Colin From Accounts' to crime solving in 'Last Seen'.
Most Americans, if they’re at all familiar with Australian actor Patrick Brammall, probably recognize him as Kristine Brouchard’s (Katja Herbers) perennially absent husband on CBS’s supernatural series Evil. But as those who’ve seen his turn as brewery owner Gordon on the wildly underrated Paramount+ rom-com Colin From Accounts — and surely, there are dozens of us! — can attest, he’s actually a charming performer.
Now, the actor’s taking on a very different kind of role in the forthcoming Apple TV drama Last Seen, a crime thriller about a dogged detective who refuses to believe his missing daughter is truly gone for good. Adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s book, The Dispatcher, the series follows Ian, a former detective who now works as a police dispatcher. His daughter, Maggie, disappeared without a trace over a decade ago, but he’s never been able to accept that she’s truly gone.
When he receives a mysterious dispatch call from a disoriented young woman who sounds an awful lot like his missing daughter, he’ll return to the case that has defined his life, vowing to finally discover the truth of what happened all those years ago. But is he right that he’s truly heard Maggie’s voice? How far is he willing to go to find out?
Here’s the series synopsis.
Police detective Ian Ridley’s life fell apart 11 years ago when his young daughter, Maggie, disappeared without a trace. Now working as a police dispatcher, the only thing that has kept him going is his implacable refusal to accept that she might be gone forever. When he receives a distress call from a teenage girl he is certain is Maggie, he will stop at nothing to find her and reunite his broken family, whatever the cost.
Alongside Brammall, the series also stars Maxine Peake (Say Nothing), Brendan Cowell (Dune: Prophecy), Daniel Henshall (The Newsreader), Zahra Newman (Neighbours), Jessica Wren (Wolf Like Me), Tobias Muhafidin (Bali 2002) and newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes.
The series is adapted and written by Kris Mrksa (The Murders at White House Farm), and directed by Christian Schwocho (The Crown). Both also executive produce, alongside Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta for 60Forty Films, and Joanna Werner for Werner Film Productions.
Last Seen premieres Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with the first two episodes, followed by weekly releases through the beginning of October.
