Welcome to the End Times, in more ways than one.

It’s been almost three years since the devastating Good Omens Season 2 cliffhanger, but fans are finally about to find out how the Ineffable Plan wraps up. The popular Prime Video series will launch its final episode in May, and if the trailer is anything to go by, it’s going to be equal parts hilarious and heartfelt.

The series’ final 90-minute episode will see David Tennant (Rivals) and Michael Sheen (Best Interests) reprise their roles as the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale, who are currently not on the best of terms after their dramatic Season 2 finale break-up. Aziraphale, now Supreme Archangel of Heaven, is tasked with managing the Second Coming, in which Jesus Christ is meant to return, judge the living and the dead, and establish a new Heaven and Earth.

But with Jesus apparently missing and no one quite sure where either He or the Book of Life — a celestial record containing details of all living beings — is at the moment, Crowley and Aziraphale will have to put aside their personal differences and fix their relationship to save the world one last time.

The road to the Good Omens finale has been a fraught one. Originally meant to consist of six episodes, the finale will now be just a single 90-minute feature. This change came in the wake of allegations of sexual misconduct against author Neil Gaimanwho wrote the original Good Omens novel with the late, great Sir Terry Pratchett. Gaiman has repeatedly denied any unlawful behavior, but subsequently stepped back from working on the production, though he did contribute to the writing of the finale in some form.

Here’s the finale synopsis.

Good Omens 3 picks up where the ineffable story left off in Season Two as the beloved and unlikely duo – angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley return to face their most epic and personal adventure yet. Their millennia-long friendship has been fractured ever since Aziraphale accepted the offer to return to Heaven, leaving Crowley behind. Now, as the newly appointed Supreme Archangel, Aziraphale is tasked with overseeing the Second Coming, a monumental responsibility that weighs heavily on him, and is made worse when his plans cause some consternation among the other angels. Meanwhile, heartbroken Crowley finds himself at rock bottom, wandering the streets of Soho.

As the fate of the universe hangs in the balance, Aziraphale and Crowley must confront their relationship, heal old wounds and rediscover their bond. From navigating London’s gangsters to thwarting Hellish threats, they face personal betrayals and the complexities of their own emotions in this timeless expedition. Together, they must decide whether their friendship – and the world itself – is worth saving.

Alongside Tennant and Sheen, many familiar faces are back for Good Omens’ final act, including Doon Mackichan (Funny Woman) as Michael, Gloria Obianyo (Outlander) as Uriel, Liz Carr (Silent Witness) as Saraqael, Paul Chahidi (The Night Manager) as Sandalphon, Quelin Sepulveda (The Veil) as Muriel, and Sir Derek George Jacobi (Last Tango in Halifax) as The Metatron. Bilal Hasna (Extraordinary) joins the cast as Jesus.

Rob Wilkins of Narrativia, representing Pratchett’s estate, and BBC Studios Comedy’s Chief Creative Officer, Josh Cole, serve as executive producers alongside Rachel Talalay (Doctor Who), who directs the finale. Sarah-Kate Fenelon and Chris Newman serve as producers.

The Good Omens finale will premiere on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, on Prime Video. All episodes of Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming on the service.
