Daisy May Cooper’s post-This Country rise has been nothing short of astronomical. Initially a one-off hit in 2018 after she’d spent years not getting much off the ground, the series, which she co-created and co-wrote with her younger brother, Charlie Cooper, wound up running three seasons. Its success led to multiple series in 2021, including the short-lived Rain Dogs, and her second surprise hit, Am I Being Unreasonable, which she co-created, co-wrote, and co-stars in with her bestie, Selin Hizli.

Neither Rain Dogs nor Am I Being Unreasonable did well in the States; the former fell into the same lack-of-marketing hole as Industry’s first season, and the latter lost out as a binge dump on Hulu. But as Hulu has added more weird, contentious comedy-thrillers like Extraordinary and Obituary, the show has picked up a cult following over here, even if it’s not a patch on the U.K. viewers.

But all good things must come to an end, and with Cooper already having launched her next major series, Nightwatch, in late 2025, it was clearly time to wind down Am I Being Unreasonable. While it’s bittersweet to know Season 3 will be the show’s last, there’s still a feeling of triumph, and Cooper is clearly walking away from the show on her own terms.

Here’s the Season 3 synopsis:

Season 3 picks up where Season 2 ended: Is Nic’s confession finally out there? What exactly did Jen do to Mrs. Baggot? Has Dan put a bun in the wrong oven? Did Ollie make Suzie go away? In this murky moral tale, everyone is forced to confront their messy realities once and for all. We’re never sure who knows what in this brilliantly complex series, but amongst the increasingly tangled web of lies and blurred boundaries are hilarious set-pieces from the colorful comic characters who live in the village of Copbury.

Cooper returns to co-star with her This Country co-star Hizli, plus Dustin Demri-Burns (Criminal Record), and Lenny Rush (Doctor Who). The only supporting cast confirmed so far is Amanda Wilkin (Until I Kill You). However, it seems likely the rest of the regulars will be back, including Georgie Glenn (Call the Midwife), David Fynn (Belgravia: The Next Chapter), Juliet Cowan (Culprits), Phil Dunning (Boat Story), Beatie Edney (Poldark), Helen Ann Bauer (Extraordinary), Karla Crome (Misfits), and Marek Larwood (Drunk History).

Cooper and Hizli will pen all episodes of Am I Being Unreasonable’s final season, with director Emily McDonald back to helm all six installments and Ali Marlow producing. Cooper and Hizli also executive produce, along with Shane Allen.

Am I Being Unreasonable Season 3 will film in Bristol, Gloucestershire, and the West Country in the latter half of 2026 and debut on the BBC and Hulu (and Disney+’s Hulu header) in 2027.
