'Slow Horses' Officially Confirmed to Return for Season 7

Not all Americans understand precisely how actors become Sirs and Dames. It's a multiple-step process, starting with being awarded Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE), Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE), or Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE). Those non-titled awards are given out at the New Year's Honours.

Being promoted to Knight Commander or Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, or a Knight Grand Cross or Dame Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, is part of the King's (or Queen's) Birthday Honours, which occurs in June. For 2025, King Charles III bestowed that honor on David Beckham (which means Posh is now Lady Beckham), Roger Daltrey of The Who, and actor Gary Oldman.

Now styled Sir Gary Oldman, the actor gave multiple interviews in the wake of receiving his knighthood, and was naturally asked about his current hit series, Slow Horses. Oldman not only expressed enthusiasm about starring in the show for as long as it runs, but he also inadvertently revealed that the show had already been renewed for Season 7, and he would be returning.
