‘The Madame Blanc Mysteries’ Season 5 Officially Confirmed
Despite the announcement being delayed for nearly 10 months, it seems fans will be getting 'The Madame Blanc Mysteries' Season 5 before the end of 2026.
There have been rumors since March 2026 that Acorn TV had started production on The Madame Blanc Mysteries Season 5. But with no way to confirm, and both parent company AMC Global and co-producer U.K. network 5 tight-lipped, it was impossible to determine whether this was a real story or just the hopes of a devoted fandom who couldn’t believe the show wouldn’t be renewed.
However, with the arrival of the pictures from the “start of production,” in which every clapperboard held by various cast members bears a March 2026 date, it seems the rumors were, in fact, correct. It may have taken far longer than usual for Acorn TV to officially confirm the series’ return; however, Madame Blanc is, in fact, coming back before the end of 2026 with another set of seven episodes set in the sparkling sunshine of St Victoire for another exciting season of antiques and mysteries.
The “seven-episode” part is important because typically, Madame Blanc’s regular season runs six episodes, and the seventh (usually treated as the show’s premiere) is actually the Christmas special from the prior year. However, in 2025, the Christmas special was treated as a separate entity, announced independently of the series’ regular run, rather than heralding confirmation of Season 5 to follow. With the Season 5 announcement delayed for nearly 10 months, it seems fans will be getting their first expanded season, with the Christmas episode technically making Season 5 eight installments all told.

As The Madame Blanc Mysteries is a crime-of-the-week series, there’s no overarching synopsis for the season as yet. However, producer Andy Morgan teased a bit of what’s to come in the press release:
“The Madame Blanc Mysteries is the gift that keeps on giving. Thanks to Sally and all of our brilliant team, series five promises to bring more excitement and even more guest stars than ever. Our hats are at the ready, as Jean and Dom plan their much-anticipated wedding, but we’ll have to wait and see if they make it down the aisle, as things are never straightforward in St Victoire.”
Series creator Sally Lindsay (Cold Call) will once again lead the series as the titular Jean White, aka “Madame Blanc,” with Steve Edge (Murder They Hope) as her fiancé, Dom Hayes, and Tony Robinson (Black Adder) as Dom’s Uncle Patrick. Co-writer Sue Vincent (Shameless) also returns as mechanic Gloria Beaushaw with Paul Chuckle (Elliott) as her dad, Trevor Beaushaw. The ensemble is rounded out by Robin Askwith (Strike) and Sue Holderness (Only Fools and Horses) as hoteliers Jeremy and Judith Lloyd James, and Alex Gaumond (Derry Girls) as Chief of Police André Caron.
The only guest star confirmed so far for Season 5 is Stephen Bailey (Coronation Street), who returns for a third season as the running antagonist, gangster John Marsden. More are expected to be announced in due course.
As always, Lindsay and Vincent co-wrote all seven episodes, with director Dermot Boyd helming all installments, produced by Jake Rollins. Lindsay and Caroline Roberts-Cherry serve as executive producers for Saffron Cherry, alongside Morgan and Mike Benson for Clapperboard.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries Season 5 is currently filming in Gozo and Malta and is expected to debut on Acorn TV before the end of 2026.
