‘Beyond Paradise’ Season 4 to Summer on BritBox

They won't pave 'Beyond Paradise' or put up a parking lot, but harder times are coming to Devon.

‘Beyond Paradise’ Season 4 to Summer on BritBox

For those looking for good news on this holiday weekend, we’ve got an update on a release date for Beyond Paradise. Unlike Season 3, whose debut was held back by BritBox until mid-October 2025, Season 4 will not need to wait for pumpkin spice season to cross the pond. The series will instead return to premiering directly following the finale of its parent show, Death in Paradise, which is currently streaming new episodes of Season 15 on Tuesdays through the beginning of June.

The Season 15 finale is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, June 9, 2026; Beyond Paradise will drop its season premiere the same day, guaranteeing murders to solve in beautiful locations for the bulk of the summer.

However, it’s not all sunshine and bodies in the spinoff series set in fictional Shipton Abbott. One of the major guest stars in Season 4 is not here on holiday. Vincent Franklin (The War Between the Land & the Sea) plays James Smith, who has arrived to announce an RIF (Reduction in Force). Poor DI Humphrey Goodman is being forced to make a terrible decision. One of his employees has to go. Whether this is an excuse for one of the ensemble to exit the show (which has yet to start undergoing the kind of major casting turnover Death in Paradise is famous for) or just a very stressful season-long arc remains to be seen.

Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton in 'Beyond Paradise' Season 4 (BritBox)

Here’s BritBox’s synopsis:

The hit spin-off from Death in Paradise returns, with DI Humphrey Goodman and the Shipton Abbott team facing a fresh wave of mind-boggling crimes. Mystery, humor, and heart combine in this popular crime drama series set against the breathtaking landscapes of Devon and Cornwall. Fact and folklore blur when a witness claims a mermaid wrecked a local seaweed farm, while a missing treasure map sparks a hunt for deeply buried truths. Beyond the station, the team faces their own personal challenges, and newlyweds Humphrey and Martha launch into married life – until their houseboat starts taking on water. Can they find a new place to call home? Can Humphrey resolve an impossible dilemma to save his team?

Kris Marshall (Sanditon) and Sally Bretton (Lewis) once again lead the main cast with series stalwarts Zahra Ahmadi (The Beast Must Die) as DS Esther Williams; Dylan Llewellyn (Derry Girls) as PC Kelby Hartford; Felicity Montagu (Tom Jones) as Margo Martins; Barbara Flynn (The Durrells in Corfu) as Martha’s mother, Anne Lloyd; Jamie Bamber (Cannes Confidential) as Archie Hughes; Eva Feiler (The Crown) as Nurse Lucy; Phil Daniels (Endeavour) as Marvelous Harris; and Melina Sinadinou (The Terminal List: Dark Wolf) as Ester’s daughter, Zoe Williams.

The Season 4 guest star roster is once again stacked. Along with Franklin, it will include Kenneth Collard (Funny Woman), Rachel Cassidy (Downton Abbey), Colin McFarlane (Outlander), Melanie Walters (Gavin & Stacey), Tristan Sturrock (Poldark), Andrea Lowe (Sherwood), Michael Cochrane (Call the Midwife), Rina Mahoney (Happy Valley), Emily Stott (Riot Women), Alex Macqueen (Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials), Narinda Samra (The Wheel of Time), James Clay (MobLand), Susan George (Clue), and Susan Penhaligon (The Dead Room).

Series creators Robert Thorogood and Tony Jordan return for Beyond Paradise Season 4 as the show’s creative force, with Lindsay Hughes serving as producer. Jordan also executive produces with Tim Key for Red Planet Pictures, Robert Schildhouse & Stephen Nye for BritBox, and Danielle Scott-Haughton for the BBC.

Beyond Paradise Season 4 will premiere on BritBox on Tuesday, June 9, and stream weekly episodes through mid-July.
