Everything British Streaming on PBS for June 2026

Our monthly rundown of everything British coming to PBS and PBS Passport for June 2026.

Summer hasn’t quite rolled in yet, despite the calendar being only days away from June. However, as July 4, 2026, marks the U.S. semiquincentennial (aka the 250th anniversary) of the Declaration of Independence, PBS is already gearing up for the celebration. For the history buffs who can’t get enough of America during the Georgian Era, this means there’s a bumper crop of programming arriving at the top of the month.

For everyone else.... well.

It’s not like PBS will have a dearth of British shows for June. This is the traditional point in the calendar when the PBS “Summer of Mysteries” tends to kick off, which for the last decade has been anchored by Grantchester. This year will be no different, especially since the long-running detective series is debuting its eleventh and final season. Meanwhile, the Downton Abbey primetime re-air will continue all month long, with the second half of Season 1, followed by the debut of Season 2.

As always, the month will also bring a new set of Walter Presents titles from various countries. While some of those arriving this month are long-running favorites, the Channel 4 foreign-language anthology series is introducing a couple of brand-new shows in the first half of the month for those looking for something fresh.

Here’s the list of June 2026 British premieres heading to most PBS stations and their various streaming outlets.

Patience Season 2

Technically, the Patience Season 2 early release binge on PBS Passport is a very-end-of-May debut. But since we traditionally publish the PBS list before the end of the month (and there’s nothing from Acorn TV or BritBox on June 1), we’re leading off with it. The Yorkshire-set remake of the hit French series Astrid has proved so popular, PBS has elevated it to early-binge premiere status, giving hardcore fans a jump on checking out this season’s major casting turnover. The show’s version of Raphaëlle, DI Bea Metcalf (Laura Fraser), is out, giving Patience Evans (Ella Masie Purvis) a new partner in crime-solving, the motorbike-riding DI Frankie Monroe, played by W1A’s Jessica Hynes.

Patience Season 2 will debut with all episodes for PBS Passport members and on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video channel on Sunday, May 31, 2026. It will arrive on linear and the PBS app as a weekly release starting Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET.

New Kid on the Block (La Recrue)

Do you know how hard it was to find information on the Walter Presents series La Recrue, because someone gleefully decided to rename it New Kid on the Block, since there’s already an American series called The Recruit? (These people want to drive me into an early grave.) Anyway! The TF1 miniseries initially aired in France in early 2024, and stars Thierry Neuvic (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) as the grizzled detective Vincent Béraud, who is paired up with the (mostly) reformed young thief Kevin Loren, played by Ethann Isidore (Indiana Jones & the Dial of Destiny), to solve crimes in the luxury resort town of Biarritz.

All six episodes of New Kid on the Block will debut on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel starting Friday, June 5, 2026

The Lawyers (Las Abogadas)

One of the newest miniseries to cross the pond from Spain’s TVE, The Lawyers (Las Abogadas) originally debuted in 2024. Starring Paula Usero (Velvet Collection) as real-life lawyer-turned-activist Lola González, the series is a historical drama based on González and her fellow female lawyers who challenged the Francoist dictatorship in 1969, and follows their story through the 1977 Atocha massacre that finally brought down the regime.

All six episodes of The Lawyers will debut on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel starting Friday, June 12, 2026.

Grantchester Season 11

After a decade-long run, Grantchester finally draws to a close with Season 11. Set in 1963, the series will wrap up the story of DI Geordie Keating (Robson Green) and his revolving cast of crime-solving vicars, plus the ensemble of found family that surrounds them.

Grantchester Season 11 debuts on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET on most PBS stations, the PBS app, and the PBS Masterpiece channel, and will air and stream weekly through the end of July. All eight episodes are available to binge on PBS Passport starting on premiere day.

Downton Abbey Season 2

Season 2, or “Downton Abbey does The Great War,” may contain some of the show’s finest hours of television. This was the season when the characters began to soften from their far more prickly archetypes in Season 1, but before the show devolved into frothy, soap-operatic plot twists that became a regular feature of the post-Dan Stevens years.

Downton Abbey Season 2 debuts Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 10 p.m. ET on most PBS stations and the PBS app, and will air/stream weekly through the end of July. All episodes are already streaming on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel.

The Mountain Detective (Alex Hugo) Season 4

Walter Presents has been bringing over new seasons of the super-popular French series The Mountain Detective (Alex Hugo) like clockwork every spring since 2023. Ironically, despite the show’s steady annual premiere, the “seasons” have little to do with how it actually airs, since the series airs as an ongoing series of specials rather than a seasonal episodic drama.

Samuel Le Bihan (The Deep Dark) stars as the titular Alex Hugo, Mountain Detective, who retires from Marseille’s force only to become chief inspector of the rural police force in the mountains. Thus far, the first three seasons have comprised a mishmash of episodes from Seasons 4-10, in randomized order. Season 4, which will contain seven installments, has synopses that match episodes from Seasons 9, 10, and 11.

All episodes of The Mountain Detective Season 4 will debut on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel starting Friday, June 19, 2026.

Paradise (Il Paradiso Delle Signore) Season 11

Paradise (Il Paradiso Delle Signore) Season 10 just arrived on PBS Passport in March 2026. Despite the short gap between seasons, don’t worry that Walter Presents is running out any time soon, as “Season 10” is really Season 3, Episodes 51-60, and “Season 11” continues pulling from the show’s third season, with Episodes 61-70. For those who managed to survive the rough transition when the show changed formats from a 20-episode-a-season weekly nighttime soap to a 120-episode-a-season daytime soap, and are still watching, that means there’s just more to binge.

All ten episodes of Paradise Season 11 will debut on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel starting Friday, June 26, 2026.
