‘Miss Scarlet’ Sets Final Season Release Dates
PBS Passport members can watch Miss Scarlet's final cases on early release this holiday season.
The end of an era is upon us. The show formerly known as Miss Scarlet and the Duke, rebranded as Miss Scarlet when its original leading man departed, and a trailblazer in the plucky historical lady detective subgenre alongside hits like Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, will air its final season in 2027.
The series stars Kate Phillips (Wolf Hall) as the titular Eliza Scarlet, the first female private investigator in Victorian London. Season 6 concluded with Eliza entering a new era of growth in her practice, interviewing a long line of prospective female investigators to join her team. She also has newfound stability in her romantic life, as Detective Alexander Blake’s (Tom Durant-Pritchard) promotion means the pair’s personal relationship will no longer conflict with their professional goals.
Best of all, fans won’t have to wait until the New Year to find out how Eliza Scarlet’s story ends. Masterpiece has confirmed that Season 7 will receive an early release on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel in November.

In the final season, Eliza Scarlet has found love, but with it comes a new set of challenges, both on a professional and personal level. As she faces mounting pressures both at work and at home, she is reunited with familiar friendly faces, as well as a powerful new crime boss who has arrived in town - and it’s not who you might expect. Meanwhile, Blake’s promotion brings its own complications, as he finds himself answering to a surprising new boss with whom he shares a complicated history. Season seven raises the stakes, deepens the drama, and brings Eliza and Blake’s journey to a thrilling and satisfying close.

Alongside Phillips and Durant-Pritchard, many fan favorites will be back for the show’s final episodes, including Paul Bazely (Such Brave Girls) as Clarence, Tim Chipping (The English Game) as Detective Phelps, Evan McCabe (House of Guinness) as Detective Fitzroy, Felix Scott (Miss Austen) as Patrick Nash, Cordelia Bugeja (The War Between the Land and the Sea) as Florence, and Ansu Kabia (World On Fire) as Moses.
“Miss Scarlet, played by the incredible Kate Phillips, won the hearts of our audience from the very beginning, and I know they will be sad to see it end,” Masterpiece Head of Scripted Content and Executive Producer Susanne Simpson said. “Our great pleasure was to work with such a talented cast and the very brilliant writing team of Rachael New and Ben Edwards. They have created seven wonderful seasons filled with charm, wit, and memorable characters, and have the perfect ending in store for our beloved Eliza.”
New and Edwards co-wrote the final season, with Ivan Zivkovic directing all installments. New, Edwards, and Simpson also executive produce, alongside Harvey Myman, Jin Ishimoto, Patrick Irwin, and Patty Lenahan Ishimoto. The Irish co-producer is Jim Duggan, the Serbian co-producer is Anđelija Vlaisavljević, and the Senior Series Producer for Masterpiece is Erin Delaney.
Miss Scarlet Season 7 will stream as an early-release binge for PBS Passport members and on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel beginning Sunday, November 29, 2026. The show’s official broadcast premiere is Sunday, January 17, 2027, at 8 p.m. ET, with episodes arriving weekly through the end of February.
