Everyone runs the Bedroom Gauntlet in ‘Rivals’ Season 2
'Rivals' runs out the tape on 'The Golden Gauntlet.'
While Maud is in London getting freaky with Tony over a lead role in Four Men Went to Mow, Episode 5 of Rivals opens with her husband, Declan, in Ireland filming his beloved Yeats documentary with Cameron. Well, trying to anyway. The weather isn’t cooperating; his hair blowing around as he walks up and down the hills is distracting. But really, he’s in a foul mood because of Maud, and everyone knows it.
Cameron tries to tell him to get it together – I honestly feel for her sometimes, her entire life is telling egotistical rich white dudes to behave like professionals – but Declan listening to her is about as likely as Rupert listening to her without being backed into a corner. Instead, he does everyone a favor and jumps in a lake, naked as the day he was born, so that everyone can appreciate him swimming, full glory, and he can calm down.
Speaking of Rupert, the hits keep coming for him after the cold open. Gerald warned him he’d be standing for the Tories in the by-election since Rupert lasted all of 12 hours as the MP for Chalford and Bisley, and Rupert has done his best to put a good face on it. Now that Gerald’s won – with both Muffy and Charles looking at him like he hung the moon from their respective spots – Rupert’s booking it out of there. After all, he has a date.
