Starz Sets October Premiere Date for ‘Tip Toe’
Critically acclaimed drama 'Tip Toe' will premiere on Starz as part of the Fall 2026 schedule.
Starz has announced that the critically acclaimed drama Tip Toe will officially premiere in the U.S. as part of the Fall 2026 schedule. The series hails from Russell T. Davies, best known for his key role in relaunching Doctor Who in 2005. But he’s also been behind multiple groundbreaking queer series, including the original Queer as Folk, the critically acclaimed AIDS drama It’s a Sin, and the uncomfortably prescient dystopian sci-fi series Years & Years.
Tip-Toe is a show in a similar vein, an exploration of the increasingly dark and corrosive forces of our current cultural and political moment and their impact on the gay community. The thought-provoking five-part series aired on U.K. network Channel 4 earlier in the year to rave reviews, particularly for the performances of leads David Morrissey (Gone) and Alan Cumming (The Traitors).
Like Queer as Folk, the series takes place in Manchester and follows the story of next-door neighbors Leo (Cumming) and Clive (Morrissey). Though they’ve been perfectly cordial to one another for over fifteen years, their relationship begins to sour in the face of the bigotry and homophobia that are on the rise throughout the U.K.
Here’s the series’ synopsis.
Leo and Clive are neighbors in Manchester. But when Leo gives Clive his spare key, an ordinary suburban world becomes a minefield of lies and violence, with terrifying results.
Alongside Morrissey and Cumming, the series also stars Jackson Connor (Masters of the Air), Iz Hesketh (Renegade Nell), Pooky Quesnel (Moonflower Murders), Joseph Evans (All Creatures Great & Small), Elizabeth Berrington (Lost Boys & Fairies), Paul Rhys (Saltburn), and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Wednesday).
Davies wrote all five episodes of the series, with Peter Hoar (The Last of Us) directing and Phil Collinson producing. Davies, Hoar, and Cumming are all executive producers, alongside Nicola Shindler of Quay Street Productions.
Tip Toe will premiere on Friday, October 2, 2026, on Starz, with new episodes dropping weekly through the end of the month.
