‘The Madame Blanc Mysteries’ Sets Season 5 Return Date
As promised, 'The Madame Blanc Mysteries' Season 5 will return before the end of 2026.
Acorn TV has announced the official return of The Madame Blanc Mysteries for Season 5, and as promised, the series will return before the end of 2026. However, the delay in greenlighting the forthcoming season has caused a format switch-up, and if it works, I foresee the series becoming a late-fall staple.
Up until now, the U.K. network that produces Madame Blanc, Channel 5, has greenlit and released Christmas special episodes in December since the show’s second season. These initially served as kick-off episodes for the forthcoming season, as Madame Blanc aired in the U.K. in late winter during its early years.
Acorn TV struggled with how to handle the special, since the show wouldn’t premiere in the U.S. until spring. For a while, the streaming service released the special in December, in the days before Christmas, then re-premiered it as the season’s first episode, even though that was awkward. Since Season 3, Acorn has dropped that approach and streams the Christmas special as the show’s premiere, regardless of when it debuted on the calendar.
However, the late start to filming Season 5 has pushed the series’ release back to late autumn, with the finale streaming in Christmas week. Naturally, the production re-ordered the episodes, and for the first time since it launched, The Madame Blanc Mysteries will conclude with the holiday special. Acorn and 5 have even made a deal for Season 5 to debut simultaneously in the U.S. and the U.K., as well as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, so that all fans, no matter where they are, will get a dose of Madame Blanc at Christmas.

Here’s the Season 5 synopsis:
The seven-episode fifth season of The Madame Blanc Mysteries follows Jean and Dom as they plan their wedding, but nothing can prepare them for the unforeseen obstacles they’ll face. During this season, a body is discovered at one of the show’s iconic locations, Uncle Patrick hosts the pub quiz of the century, Judith and Jeremy face a heart-wrenching dilemma, and the bodies continue to stack up when another victim is found foaming at the mouth in St Victoire Theatre. John Marsden unleashes his full wrath, and Jean and Dom’s journey to the altar hangs in the balance.

The ensemble is rounded out by Robin Askwith (Inside No. 9) and Sue Holderness (Only Fools and Horses) as hoteliers Jeremy and Judith Lloyd James, and Alex Gaumond (Derry Girls) as Chief of Police André Caron.
Stephen Bailey (Tip Toe) once again returns to guest star for a third season straight as the running antagonist, gangster John Marsden. He’ll be joined by Frazer Hines (And Then There Were None), Bonnie Langford (Doctor Who), Michael Fenton Stevens (Slow Horses), Lesley Joseph (The Good Ship Murder), Brian Capron (Midsomer Murders), Louisa Lytton (Murdoch Mysteries), Jason Manford (Starstruck), Zoe Lyons (Mixtape), Justin Moorhouse (The Dumping Ground), and Su Pollard (Hacker Time).

As always, Lindsay and Vincent co-wrote all seven episodes, with director Dermot Boyd helming all installments, produced by Jake Rollins. Lindsay and Caroline Roberts-Cherry serve as executive producers for Saffron Cherry, alongside Morgan and Mike Benson for Clapperboard.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries Season 5 premieres on Acorn TV on Monday, November 9, 2026, and streams one episode a week through the holidays. Seasons 1 through 4 are also available to stream; Season 6 has not been greenlit.
