Guy Ritchie’s ‘Wife & Dog’ Digs Down to Hell

It seems fitting that the same day Mobland Season 2 arrives on Paramount+, Guy Ritchie’s other project about British aristocrats behaving badly debuts a trailer.
No, this is not about Guy Ritchie’s other project, the TV series about British aristocrats behaving badly; that’s The Gentlemen, and Season 2 already debuted on Netflix in early September 2026 (with Season 3 greenlit ahead of time). Nor is it about his other-other project, the Victorian-era set TV series about British aristocrats behaving badly; that’s Young Sherlock, and it’s currently filming Season 2. It’s not even his other-other-other project, the big-screen action thriller with Jason Statham about British aristocrats behaving badly; that’s Viva La Madness, and not scheduled to arrive until 2028.
No, this is Guy Ritchie’s other-other-other-other project, Wife & Dog. Initially billed as a spinoff of The Gentlemen when it was first announced in 2025, it seems more along the lines of a shared universe, at best. However, after seeing the first trailer, it seems more likely to be a film set in a similar milieu without being directly related, much like The Gentlemen and Mobland are clearly in conversation with each other without actually connecting on screen. (Other than being directed by Guy Ritchie, natch.)
The synopsis for the film is brutally brief:
A return to the colorful, back-stabbing world of the British aristocracy, Guy Ritchie’s dark comedy Wife & Dog follows the relentless greed of the Fairbank family and their associates, who fuel betrayal and murder in the battle for succession.

Wife & Dog stars a powerhouse cast led by Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock), Rosamund Pike (The Wheel of Time), and Anthony Hopkins (Those About to Die).
If the trailer is any indication, much like Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren in Mobland, all three leads seem to be having an absolute ball being bloodthirsty upper-class gangsters who get to do all the fun, violent stunts. Also, while we don’t get more than a glimpse of the supporting cast, everything points to them also having a rollicking good time, including shots of James Norton (Playing Nice), Cosmo Jarvis (Shōgun), and Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon), all of whom are coming off high-octane action series.
The series also stars Pip Torrens (War), but sadly, he doesn’t seem to appear in the trailer.

Ritchie wrote the Wife & Dog screenplay and directs the feature film. He also executive produces with longtime partner Ivan Atkinson, plus John Friedberg, Teddy Schwarzman, and Michael Heimler for Black Bear.
Wife & Dog is currently slated to debut in U.S. theaters on Friday, February 19, 2027.
The Gentlemen Seasons 1 and 2 currently stream on Netflix, Young Sherlock Season 1 streams on Prime Video, and Mobland Season 2 debuts on Paramount+ on Friday, September 18, 2026, with weekly installments through November.
