‘MobLand’ Season 2 Promises to Let Chaos Reign
Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are having so much fun in the 'MobLand' Season 2 trailer.
For all that Paramount+ nearly botched the rollout of Mobland Season 1, the series was the right fit for its network, and the old-school ten-week release schedule let word of mouth do the rest. Even so, it’s good to see that, for Season 2, things are running on a far more typical marketing release pattern. None of this speedrunning title announcement, first images, and a trailer in the space of ten days. Mobland Season 2 has been officially on the calendar in its mid-September berth since June 2026; a plethora of pictures arrived after July 4, and with over a month to go, we already have two full-length trailers.
Considering the show was a hit even with an incompetent marketing campaign, we can only imagine how much bigger it’s about to get with Season 2, now that things are running on a more reasonable timeline.
(Paramount+ seems to be anticipating the show can only get bigger from here, since they’ve already hired the same team back again to make the forthcoming Kenneth Branagh-starring “Yellowstone in Kilts” series, Laird.)
One of the major reasons Mobland works is its leading couple, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. Much like the Yellowstone spinoff 1923 (which also starred Mirren as an Irish gun-toting badass), the two are having so much fun it’s hard not to tune in to watch them enjoy themselves. It comes across even in the two-minute trailer, which features the two chewing the scenery and waving around heavy artillery while spouting memeable one-liners.
Here’s the Season 2 synopsis:
The second season will see the Harrigans struggle to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire – and Harry Da Souza, their street-smart and formidable ‘fixer’, must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify. As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy.
Brosnan (James Bond) and Mirren (The Queen) star as the unscrupulous heads of the Harrigan family, Conrad and Maeve, with Tom Hardy (Peaky Blinders) as loyal fixer Harry da Souza and Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey) as his estranged wife, Jan. Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon) co-stars as Harrigan heir, Kevin; Lara Pulver (Sherlock) is Kevin’s wife, Bella; and Anson Boon (Pistol) is their son, Eddie.

Supporting cast returnees for Season 2 include Toby Jones (Mr Bates vs the Post Office), Janet McTeer (The White Queen), Emmett J. Scanlan (A Woman of Substance), Mandeep Dhillon (The Good Karma Hospital), and Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy). Season 2 adds Johnny Flynn (Emma), Ophelia Lovibond (This England), and Teddie Allen (Malice) to the roster.
Jez Butterworth (The Agency) penned all Season 2 episodes alongside Ronan Bennett (Day of the Jackal), with Ritchie directing episodes. All three continue to serve as executive producers alongside Hardy; the rest of the executive team includes Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, David C. Glasser, Kris Thykier, Ivan Atkinson, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari.
MobLand Season 2 will premiere on Paramount+ on Friday, September 18, 2026, and stream weekly through the end of November. Season 3 is expected to air in 2027.
