Nicôle Lecky's 'Wild Cherry' to Debut on Paramount+ This June
The buzzy creator's much-anticipated Mood follow-up will finally cross the pond this June.
Though Nicôle Lecky’s buzzy musical drama Mood failed to make much of a splash in the U.S. back in 2022 — buried as it was on the seemingly perennially struggling BBC America — the show was kind of a big deal in the U.K., racking up rave reviews and snatching the 2023 BAFTA for Best Mini-Series out from underneath This is Going to Hurt. Lecky’s much-anticipated follow-up series, titled Wild Cherry, premiered on BBC One back in the Fall of 2025, and American audiences have been waiting ever since to find out when we might be able to see it for ourselves.
Well, the wait is finally almost over: All six episodes will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ this June. As an Anglophile destination, the streaming service has always been something of a mixed bag, bringing over an eclectic array of content ranging from The Agency and Coldwater to Dreaming Whilst Black and Can You Keep a Secret? But, given that the entire structure of Paramount is pretty much in flux at the moment, thanks to their looming merger with Warner Bros., you can’t really blame them for the overall chaos vibe when it comes to long-term planning and programming.
Described as a sort of U.K. answer to Big Little Lies, Wild Cherry takes place in a fictional gated community called Richford Lake, where everyone is not only wealthy and privileged but largely protected from the consequences of their actions, no matter how dire they might be. Its story follows a clique of teenage girls in the age of social media, hookup apps, and peer pressure, exploring both the darker side of internet culture and how the intersections of class, race, and gender shape our experiences online.

Here’s the series synopsis.
Wild Cherry follows self-made businesswoman, Lorna, and her best friend, Juliet, who was born into a world of wealth and good fortune. Together, they live in an exclusive enclave with their daughters who are also best friends. Life is perfect in this luxurious haven until their daughters are implicated in a shocking scandal. As toxic secrets ripple through the idyllic town while Lorna and Juliet are forced to take sides, cracks form in the community, shattering its perfect image.

The series stars Carmen Ejogo (The Penguin) as Lorna and Eve Best (House of the Dragon) as Juliet, with Imogen Faires (Marcella), and newcomer Amelia May as daughters Grace and Allegra.
The ensemble cast includes Sophie Winkleman (Sanditon), Daniel Lapaine (The Marlow Murder Club), Will Bagnall (A Thousand Blows), Hugh Quarshie (MaryLand), Hayat Kamille (Vikings: Valhalla), Isabelle Allen (Les Misérables), James Murray (Geek Girl), Jason York (Dreaming Whilst Black), Nathaniel Martello-White (The Winter King), Sonita Henry (The Chelsea Detective), Tara Webb (Phoenix Rise), and Katarina Čas (The Wolf of Wall Street).
Produced by Firebird Pictures, the series is written and created by Lecky, with Toby MacDonald (Extraordinary) directing. Lecky is also an executive producer, alongside Elizabeth Kilgarriff and Craig Holleworth for Firebird Pictures, and Lisa Walters, Toby MacDonald, and Lucy Richer for the BBC.
All six episodes of Wild Cherry will premiere on Wednesday, June 24, on Paramount+.
