‘You’re Killing Me’ Snags Season 2 Renewal from Acorn TV
Acorn TV’s newest #1 series, 'You’re Killing Me,' prepares to kill us again in Season 2.
Though it’s technically only been on the air for a little over a week, Acorn TV has already renewed its latest cozy mystery series, You’re Killing Me, for a second season. Unlike almost everything else on the predominantly British network, the series has a distinctly American flair, set in a quaint New England coastal town and noticeably missing the accents most of us have come to expect in this genre. But that hasn’t stopped it from being a major hit.
The renewal announcement came during the series’ panel at this year’s ATX Television Festival. It’s the latest in a line of big hits for the streaming service in the last year, starting with Season 4 of Harry Wild, and followed by Art Detectives, Irish Blood, and Murder Before Evensong. Its splashy mid-May premiere made history as Acorn TV’s #1 series launch of all time in both subscriber acquisition and viewership.
You’re Killing Me stars Brooke Shields (When Calls the Heart) and Amalia Williamson (Sullivan’s Crossing) as a predictably offbeat investigative duo — one a successful author, the other a podcaster and aspiring writer — who team up to solve a murder. Former The Flash actor Tom Cavanagh plays Jack, the new lead detective at the Founder’s Cove police department, who is himself trying to adjust to the oddities of life in a small town.
“I am crazy happy we get to do a second season of You’re Killing Me,” Shields said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to be collaborating once again with the talented Robin Bernheim, and having the opportunity to act opposite Amalia Williamson and Tom Cavanagh has been a dream. Thank you to all the people at Acorn TV and the whole marketing and creative teams for helping shepherd this show to where it is today. I promise we will continue to deliver the show you all fell in love with… even if it Kills Me.”
The series’ second season will again be set in the quaint Maine town of Founder’s Cove, and consist of six episodes. Season 2 will begin production later this year.

“You’re Killing Me has quickly become a breakout hit for Acorn TV – a series that blends sharp storytelling and irresistible twists, with Brooke’s singular presence at the center of it all,” Dan McDermott, Chief Content Officer for AMC Global Media and President of AMC Studios, said. “We look forward to expanding the world she’s helped create, alongside the wonderful Robin Bernheim, for another season of this highly entertaining and bingeable new show, which has made history with Acorn TV’s deeply passionate and engaged audience as the platform’s #1 series launch of all time.”
The series is created by Robin Bernheim, known for Netflix’s Princess Switch trilogy and Mother of the Bride, a film on which she and Shields previously collaborated. Bernheim and Shields are also executive producers, alongside Christina Jennings and, for Shaftesbury, Michael Volpe for Topsail, and Dan March for Dynamic Television.
New episodes of You’re Killing Me Season 1 stream weekly on Mondays on Acorn TV through June 22, 2026. Season 2 is expected to debut in 2027.
