I said Mr. Bates vs. The Post Office was "perfect PBS fare;" apparently, Masterpiece agreed with me. The anthology series agreed with me so much that it has upended the entire planned spring schedule for 2024 to make room for it. PBS announced today that Suranne Jones'

Funny Woman’s fourth episode is a dizzying bunch of swings and roundabouts — Sophie and Clive enjoy a honeymoon period, a bubble that can’t help but be burst; the entire Jim and Barbara team produce their funniest and sharpest episode yet, only to see CTV head of light entertainment

For those of you who have not looked at the February calendar for 2024 yet, let me be the first to remind you that this is a leap year. Not that one extra day in February does much for television programming other than give those who need to schedule it

Funny Woman's second episode is another 45 minutes of Barbara Parker / Sophie Straw very casually (and only occasionally with intent) running rings around every man she encounters. Clive Richardson’s smarm doesn’t intimidate her; Dennis Mohindra, Bill Gardner, and Tony Holmes are all delighted to fall under
