Vienna Blood
Though the premiere of Sanditon took up most of the attention in January 2020, Masterpiece actually debuted two brand new shows that winter, with a new period piece following the Jane Austen-inspired romance. Based on the Liebermann novels by Frank Tallis, Vienna Blood also made its PBS debut that
Journey To The Center of the Earth
Around the World in 80 Days has not premiered yet, but there are already plans for more. Producers Slim Film+Television and Federation Entertainment confirmed that the series will return for another installment. Even though, as far as anyone knows, the first season, which runs eight episodes, will cover the
Sanditon
Sanditon Season 2 won't arrive until spring of 2022, but the show is giving fans something to keep them warm all winter. With Theo James not returning to the program as Sidney Parker, Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams) needs a new love interest. Moreover, her younger sister, Alison Heywood,
Call the Midwife
It's only been a couple of weeks since the end of Call the Midwife Season 10 and the tenth-year retrospective episode that followed here in the U.S. The fall timeslot was not the show's usual spot; since it became a hit stateside, PBS has
Baptiste
When Baptiste was announced in 2018, it had been two years since the show that introduced the titular character, The Missing, had been on the air. The two-season series starring Tchéky Karyo as Julien Baptiste had taken quite a bit of time between seasons. The show initially aired in
Around the World in 80 Days
Jules Verne's Around The World In 80 Days has been a stone-cold classic of the burgeoning science fiction genre since it was first published in 1872. The story of the not-so-competent upper-class Phileas Fogg of London and his oh-so-competent working-class French
Baptiste
After two seasons of Baptiste, the series draws to a close with an ending that's a surprisingly quiet one, considering this season's mystery has been all about giant terrorist attacks. Once again, the episode opens with a flashback (the damn things never end.) This time we&
Grantchester
It's been a dramatic season of Grantchester after the show's year away. From the drama of Leonard's jail sentence and the arrival of a new curate to Geordie's past showing up to haunt him, the season finale has many loose ends to
All Creatures Great and Small
When All Creatures Great and Small arrived at the beginning of the year on PBS, it seemed an unlikely series to take the place of other January flagship series like Downton Abbey and Victoria. The costumes weren't over the top glamour; the drama wasn't about hidden
Baptiste
Just when you thought the time jumps were over, Baptiste's penultimate episode opens with a flashback. It's finally time for the one death the show hasn't covered: Laura's. Considering how traumatic her passing was, leaving her brother mute, one might expect a
Grantchester
Grantchester began this season with one of its heaviest storylines to date, Leonard's sexuality coming out in public. This being 1958, being gay is illegal, and it led to him being put in prison two episodes ago. Last week spent time focused on Will and the parish moving
Call the Midwife
Welcome to our final recap of Call the Midwife’s tenth season. It’s been an eventful seven episodes to say the least. As we’ve come to expect, despite their financial woes, the midwives continued to support their patients and fight for their community. They tackled social issues such
