‘Trigger Point’ Blasts Back to BritBox with Season 3
'Trigger Point' Season 3 finally has a U.S. release date on BritBox.
When we last checked in with Trigger Point right before Telly Visions went on hiatus, it had just been renewed for Season 4, which was rushing directly into production. It was a bit of a surprise, as Season 3 wasn’t due out in the U.K. until autumn and wouldn’t cross the pond until 2026. At the time, it seemed like confirmation that the Line of Duty Season 7 rumors were (finally) true, and ITV was stockpiling ahead of losing its lead actor to the show that originally made her famous.
By the time we returned in January, Line of Duty had been officially confirmed to return, and Trigger Point Season 3 had finished airing in the U.K. It was a little awkward because we had all the first images, trailer, and spoilers for Season 3, but zero sign of when it would land on BritBox, so we’ve been sitting with it, waiting for the chance to finally post them.
We aren’t posting trailers yet (or spoilers), partly because BritBox gave us such nice first images. Still, it shouldn’t be too long before we get the opportunity, since Season 3 now officially has a release date, and will arrive in the U.S. before the end of June 2026.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Explosives Officer Lana Washington and her team are called to investigate a suspected bomb threat – an iconic, London Black Cab that’s been abandoned in an industrial park. However, they soon realize they’re at the site of something far more sinister – a man is held captive in the cab, and a note is issued to him with an ultimatum: Confess or Die. Working alongside fellow EXPO Hass, and Metropolitan Police Counter Terror Officers DS Helen Morgan and newly promoted DCI Amar Batra, the team race to find out what the person behind this unique bombing campaign wants, who he is, and who he might be targeting next…
Natalie Simpson, Nabil Elouahabi, Eric Shango, and Maanuv Thiara in 'Trigger Point' Season 3 (BritBox)
McClure will once again be joined by the two actors remaining from Season 1’s original cast, Eric Shango (Suspicion) as Danny and Nabil Elouahabi (Blue Lights) as Hassan “Hass” Rahim. They’ll be joined by the two main survivors from Season 2: Natalie Simpson (Outlander) as DS Helen Morgan and Maanuv Thiara (D.I. Ray) as DI Amar Batra. The only addition for Season 3 announced thus far is guest star Jason Flemyng (Prime Target).
Chris Brandon (Bloodlands) takes over as lead writer with Season 3 from original writer Daniel Brierley and Season 2’s Simon Ashdown. Season 2 director Audrey Cooke split helming duties with Jamie Donoghue (A Discovery of Witches); the series producer is Kristian Dench. Brandon and McClure executive produce alongside Jed Mercurio, Daniel Walker, and Jessica Sharkey.
Trigger Point Season 3 arrives on BritBox on Thursday, June 18, 2026, with two episodes, followed by one a week through the end of July.
