Apparently, you can go home again. Or...at least back to your adopted country, if you're Ted Lasso.

Apparently, you can go home again. Or...at least back to your adopted country. However you want to describe it, this is basically what’s happening with Ted Lasso, the Emmy-winning Apple TV comedy that’s returning for a fourth season this summer, three years after a finale that certainly felt like a fairly conclusive ending to its story.

Sure, we saw Ted head back home to Kansas and his family, Roy take over as coach of the AFC Richmond Greyhounds, and owner Rebecca Welton contemplating starting a women’s team. But we probably should have known that Apple wouldn’t be quite so keen to give up on a franchise that’s brought it so many award season wins, no matter how divisive and/or controversial its third season was.

Season 4 will see Ted return to London to coach the aforementioned Richmond women’s team, and, if the teaser is anything to go by, it looks like his family is coming along for the ride. Does this mean that Ted and Michelle have patched up their marriage? Are they co-parenting across the pond?

Other burning teaser tidbits include a weighted stare between exes Roy and Keeley, the return of Rebecca’s still-nameless Dutch boatman boyfriend, and a squad of scrappy girls who will inevitably fill many of the same character boxes that the Richmond men’s squad did.

Here’s the Season 4 synopsis.

In season four, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.

Alongside Sudeikis, the fourth season will see the return of fan favorites Hannah Waddingham (Sex Education) as Rebecca Welton, Juno Temple (The Husbands) as Keeley Jones, Brett Goldstein (Shrinking) as Roy Kent, Brendan Hunt (Bless this Mess) as Coach Beard, and Jeremy Swift (Sweetpea) as Leslie Higgins.

They’ll be joined by some new faces, including Tanya Reynolds (The Decameron), Jude Mack (Such Brave Girls), Faye Marsay (Andor), Rex Hayes (The Pact), Aisling Sharkey (Jurassic World: Dominion), Abbie Hern (My Lady Jane), and Grant Feely (Panhandle).

30 Rock’s Jack Burditt joins the series as an executive producer for Season 4, alongside Sudeikis, Hunt, Goldstein, Joe KellyJane BeckerJamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel. Goldstein is a writer with Leanna BowenSarah Walker, and Phoebe Walsh, who will also serve as co-executive producers. Julia Lindon will also write for Season 4, with Dylan Marron as story editor. Bill Lawrence also executive produces via his Doozer Productions, with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer.

Ted Lasso Season 4 will premiere on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, on Apple TV, with new episodes to follow weekly through the beginning of October. Seasons 1-3 are now streaming.
