‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ Promises Love & Rebellion

Starz has released the trailer for the second season of its swoony, Scottish time-travel romance Outlander: Blood of My Blood, and it looks as though the show’s second outing will be just as emotionally devastating as its first.
The series’ first season ended with Brian Fraser summoned to join the latest Jacobite uprising, and forced to separate from Ellen once more. But those two are old hands at yearning from afar by now, so their fate is less directly upsetting than Henry and Julia’s. Season 1 concluded with the Beauchamps attempting to return home through the standing stones of Craig Na Dun to their own time, but didn’t offer any hint about whether they succeeded. Well, the trailer tells us the answer, and it’s not great.
It seems that Henry made it through the stones, but Julia and their new son did not. We see shots of Julia still stuck in the past, interspersed with glimpses of what appears to be Henry in an insane asylum. Admittedly, this is the sort of thing that happens when you start spouting off about things like how you left your wife behind in 1700s Scotland, but it’s a dire situation all the same. How will our favorite pairs find their way back to each other? We’ll have to wait until September to find out.
Here’s the Season 2 synopsis.
After an unexpected journey back in time, Henry and Julia Beauchamp were left lost and separated in the sweeping highlands of 18th-century Scotland. Season 2 picks up right where the finale left off, with a distraught Julia alone with their baby. Separated from his love and hope, Henry must grapple with his mental health as he fights to find his way back to her. Meanwhile, the forbidden relationship between Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie seemed to conquer all odds, but their romantic escape was cut short as fiery crosses were lit and the 1715 Jacobite Rising began, thrusting the clans into war. In Season 1, they chose each other over their families, but now they must prioritize their clan loyalties, as Brian fulfills his obligation to fight and Ellen seeks to make things right with her family. The two young couples will be tested and separated once again by forces beyond their control, as every clan chooses a side in the rebellion.
Hermione Corfield (We Hunt Together), Jeremy Irvine (Dalgliesh), Harriet Slater (Belgravia: The Next Chapter) and Jamie Roy (Meeting You, Meeting Me) star as the show’s central quartet of star-crossed lovers.
The ensemble also includes Tony Curran (Mary and George) as Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat; Séamus McLean Ross (Rebus) as Colum MacKenzie; Sam Retford (Grace) as Dougal MacKenzie; Rory Alexander (Pistol) as Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser; and Conor MacNeill (Industry) as Ned Gowan.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2 will debut on Friday, September 18, 2026, and will air/stream one episode a week through the end of November.
