‘Miss Scarlet’s Final Season Trailer Brings Things Full Circle
Our first look at the Miss Scarlet Season 7 is scant on details.
For all that we’ve been hard on it over the years, Miss Scarlet not only made it seven seasons, but it will end on its own terms, which is something of a modern-day miracle. Few shows get the gift of choosing their endpoint in the streaming era, especially series that underwent a fairly significant creative overhaul (and lost one of their original stars) halfway through. Despite its struggles, when Season 7 officially premieres this January, we’ll get to find out how Eliza Scarlet’s story ends.
Kate Phillips (Wolf Hall) returns as the titular Miss Eliza Scarlet for the final season, after Season 6 concluded with her entering a new era of growth in her professional practice, interviewing a long line of prospective female investigators to join her team. She also has newfound stability in her romantic life, as Detective Alexander Blake’s (Tom Durant-Pritchard) promotion means the pair’s personal relationship will no longer conflict with their professional goals. The final trailer returns to the bedrock principles the show was founded on: Eliza Scarlet, the first female private investigator in Victorian London. The entire clip feels almost like it’s celebrating that fact, with high praise coming from multiple corners, even from Eliza’s one-time adversary, Detective Phelps.
Notably, the trailer gives remarkably little away about this final run of episodes. It shows a smooch between Eliza and Blake, a request from Phelps for help with a murder investigation, and a warning that whoever they’re chasing is extremely dangerous. And... that’s it. (Womp womp.)
At least there’s a blink-and-you-miss-it confirmation that Florence Dodds (Cordelia Bugeja) is coming back!
Here’s the Season 7 synopsis.
In the final season, Eliza Scarlet has found love, but with it comes a new set of challenges, both on a professional and personal level. As she faces mounting pressures both at work and at home, she is reunited with familiar friendly faces, as well as a powerful new crime boss who has arrived in town - and it’s not who you might expect.
Meanwhile, Blake’s promotion brings its own complications, as he finds himself answering to a surprising new boss with whom he shares a complicated history. Season 7 raises the stakes, deepens the drama, and brings Eliza and Blake’s journey to a thrilling and satisfying close.

Alongside Phillips and Durant-Pritchard, many familiar faces and fan favorites will be back for the show’s final season, including Paul Bazely (Such Brave Girls) as Clarence, Tim Chipping (The English Game) as Detective Phelps, Evan McCabe (House of Guinness) as Detective Fitzroy, Felix Scott (Miss Austen) as Patrick Nash, Cordelia Bugeja (The War Between the Land & the Sea) as Florence, and Ansu Kabia (World On Fire) as Moses.
Rachel New and Ben Edwards co-wrote the final season, with Ivan Zivkovic directing all installments. New, Edwards, and Simpson also executive produce, alongside Harvey Myman, Jin Ishimoto, Patrick Irwin, and Patty Lenahan Ishimoto. The Irish co-producer is Jim Duggan, the Serbian co-producer is Anđelija Vlaisavljević, and the Senior Series Producer for Masterpiece is Erin Delaney.

The show’s official broadcast premiere is Sunday, January 17, 2027, at 8 p.m. ET, with episodes arriving weekly through the end of February.
