Peacock & Sky Introduce 'The Good Daughter'
The international cast of the series 'The Good Daughter' will most likely be bad on Peacock.
The Good Daughter was originally announced in August 2025. Billed at the time as “An American Event Series,” we instantly skipped right over it without much thought – after all, Peacock streams Sky-produced shows, so why wouldn’t it logically go the other way?
However, despite the billing, this is a Sky series, not a Peacock one, and it has multiple actors from non-American countries, including Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. We’ve covered shows with fewer ties to our writ than that, and with lead Meghann Fahy about to star in The Trial of Louise Woodward, this show officially has enough going for it to pique our interest.
Based on Karin Slaughter’s 2017 best-selling novel of the same name, the series certainly fits with some of the other female-led crime dramas Peacock has found success with, including the Sarah Snook-led All Her Fault. The story follows two estranged sisters who return home after their hometown experiences a school shooting; the series is one of those “dark secrets bubble under the surface” shows that play really well with thriller-loving audiences.
Here’s the series synopsis:
The Good Daughter is a suspenseful thriller wrapped in a deeply emotional story about love, family, and resilience. Sisters Charlotte and Samantha Quinn have spent the last 20 years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence. When another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte – now a lawyer like her father – is the first witness on the scene. As the case unfolds and twists through painful memories and buried secrets, what emerges is not just a story of survival, but of enduring ties between a father and his daughters, and the complex bond between sisters.

Fehy stars as Charlotte, with Rose Byrne (X-Men) as Samantha. The cast also includes Brendan Gleeson (The Tragedy of Macbeth), Olivia Williams (The Crown), Michael Dorman (For All Mankind), Audrey Grace Marshall (Echo Valley), presenter Harper Steele in a rare dramatic role, and small-screen newcomer Drew Ann Cheek.
Author Karin Slaughter (who also wrote Pieces of Her) adapted her own work for the small screen, with director Steph Green (The Americans) helming all installments. Both executive-produced, along with Byrne, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, and Casey Haver for Made Up Stories.
The Good Daughter will premiere on both Sky and Peacock before the end of 2026.
