The ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Trailer Makes Us Want to Believe
The Lady Greyhounds will take the pitch in August.
BELIEVE it: Ted Lasso is officially back next month, with a fourth season that many probably never believed would exist. It’s been three years since the Emmy-winning comedy took what was then believed to be its final bow, after a divisive third season that saw its beloved eponymous coach head back to America and his family in Kansas.
But in the streaming era, no ending is ever truly final, particularly when the property in question is a critical and popular darling that helped put Apple TV on the map among the mainstream public. If the Season 4 trailer is anything to go by, Apple TV is leaning heavily into Jason Sudeikis’s unique brand of kitchsy wholesomeness that made its previous outings so popular.
Apple released a similar clip back in April, and while we can all debate the wisdom of waiting until a week from release to drop what it’s labeling the season’s “official trailer,” this has always been a series that marches to the beat of its own drum. At the very least, there’s some new footage, including Ted’s return to the AFC Richmond locker room, his reunion with Roy, and the first team photo for the new Lady Greyhounds squad.
There are heartfelt hugs! A reference to one of the show’s most popular catch phrases! A team of scrappy newcomers! A Mumford & Sons song that is literally about the unique power of togetherness! It’s exactly what you want — and expect — it to be, for both good and ill.
Here’s the Season 4 synopsis.
In Season 4, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.
Alongside Sudeikis, the fourth season will see the return of fan favorites Hannah Waddingham (Sex Education) as Rebecca Welton, Juno Temple (The Husbands) as Keeley Jones, Brett Goldstein (All of You) as Roy Kent, Jeremy Swift (Sweetpea) as Leslie Higgins, and Brendan Hunt (Bless This Mess) as Coach Beard.
They’ll be joined by some new faces, including Tanya Reynolds (The Other Bennet Sister), Jude Mack (Such Brave Girls), Faye Marsay (Andor), Rex Hayes (The Pact), Abbie Hern (My Lady Jane), Aisling Sharkey (Jurassic World: Dominion), and Grant Feely (Panhandle).
Ted Lasso Season 4 will premiere on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, on Apple TV, with new episodes to follow weekly through the beginning of October.
