Everything British Streaming on PBS for November 2026

Our monthly rundown of everything British coming to PBS and PBS Passport for November 2026.

Everything British Streaming on PBS for November 2026
'Miss Scarlet' Season 7 Key Art (Masterpiece)

November is here, and with it the holiday season. After two months of wall-to-wall debuts, this was once the point in the calendar when things slowed down, as shows went on winter break to make room for holiday specials.

That’s no longer the case, as the holidays are now one of the last bastions of live viewing, both because of the season’s immediacy and because families increasingly need something everyone can agree on, so politics doesn’t spark mini-civil wars around the Thanksgiving table.

On PBS, November marks the conclusion of the autumn portion of the TV schedule, with the second round of Sunday night shows drawing to a close just as the turkey starts brining. For 2026, that lineup includes Season 5 of Professor T, plus Season 2 of both Maigret and The Gold. November is also the new spot for Great Performances to air the yearly pro-shot from the previous summer’s Shakespeare in the Park from the Delacorte Theater. Plus, new series from both the BBC and Walter Presents are arriving on PBS Passport.

Let’s run down everything British streaming and airing on local PBS stations for November 2026.

Darby & Joan Season 1

This month’s winner of the “Which Acorn TV Series Will Come Out from Behind the Paywall” sweepstakes is the 2021 series Darby & Joan. Starring Australian actor Bryan Brown and Italian-Australian actress Greta Scacchi, the odd-couple crime-solvers are known in Australian society as “grey nomads”, retirees who leave their homes to travel across the country in search of adventure. Brown plays Jack Darby, a retired Australian homicide detective who has taken to the open road with his dog Diesel; Scacchi is Joan Kirkhope, a recently widowed English nurse on a reluctant trip across the Outback to find answers about her husband’s mysterious death. The series ran two seasons on Acorn TV, so there’s one more season to go.

All episodes of Darby & Joan Season 1 will debut on select PBS linear channels and PBS Passports starting Sunday, November 1, 2026. As always, check your local listings and streaming services.

The Jewish Council (De Joodse Raad)

A slightly different offering from American Public Television kicks off the November list, with the five-part drama The Jewish Council (De Joodse Raad). The 1940-set miniseries debuted in 2024 on the Dutch public broadcaster Evangelische Omroep; set in Amsterdam during the Nazi occupation, it dramatizes how the real-life Jewish Council co-chairman David Cohen (Pierre Bokma) and his daughter Virrie (Claire Bender) pursued increasingly opposing ways of safeguarding their community under Nazi rule.

All episodes of The Jewish Council will debut on select PBS linear channels and PBS Passports starting Sunday, November 1, 2026. As always, check your local listings and streaming services.

Anne Boleyn & Elizabeth I: Prisoner Queens

Add another historical special on British royalty to the roster. Anne Boleyn & Elizabeth I: Prisoner Queens, hosted by historian Tracy Borman and actor Jason Watkins, explores the relationship between Henry VIII’s second wife Anne Boleyn and her daughter, Elizabeth I. From a rejected, illegitimate child to England’s longest-reigning and one of its most successful monarchs, Elizabeth I's legacy is viewed through her mother’s sacrifice.

Anne Boleyn & Elizabeth I: Prisoner Queens will debut on select PBS linear channels and PBS Passports starting Sunday, November 1, 2026. As always, check your local listings and streaming services.

Single Bells Season 1

Walter Presents kicks off November with the rare show in its lineup that is neither noir nor a mystery. Instead, we’re getting the first season of Single Bells, which may be the closest thing to a Hallmark-style Christmas rom-com I’ve ever seen come to PBS. The thirty-minute Belgian comedy series debuted on VTM and Streamz in 2024 and stars Julie Van den Steen as the perpetually single Mina, whose family sets her up on a dozen blind dates (one per episode) over the holiday season. The series has been such a hit that VTM has already greenlit Season 3, so it may yet become a yearly holiday series for PBS.

All 12 episodes of Single Bells Season 1 will debut on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel on Friday, November 6, 2026.

Happiness

Like Game of Wool, Happiness has been floating around on individual PBS stations since early 2026; this marks the series’ nationwide PBS Passport release. A New Zealand-produced and set musical comedy series, the series stars Harry McNaughton (The Pact) as Charlie Summers, former toast of the New York theater world, now reduced to living in his former childhood bedroom and helping his mother out at the local community musical theater, where the performers have more enthusiasm than talent.

All six episodes of Happiness will debut on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel on Sunday, November 8, 2026.

Murder in Sweden (Maria Wern) Season 5

Maria Wern remains one of my least favorite series, not because of the plot or characters, but because Walter Presents insists on renaming the show Murder in Sweden, a completely ungooglable title. (Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the SEO?) Season 5’s cases of the week will include murders at a theater and a golf course, plus the uncovering of dangerous vigilantes, all while Wern’s home life threatens to fall apart. The series ran nine seasons, so there’s more to come in 2027.

All eight episodes of Murder in Sweden Season 5 will stream on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel on Friday, November 13, 2026.

Great Performances: ‘Romeo & Juliet’

Fridays aren’t just for Walter Presents; Great Performances also debuts new episodes on Fridays on the PBS National schedule. This year’s professionally shot live theatrical production from New York City’s summer staple, Shakespeare in the Park, is Romeo & Juliet, starring Ra’Mya Latiah Aikens and Daniel Bravo Hernández as the star-crossed lovers in a new interpretation directed by Saheem Ali.

Great Performances: ‘Romeo & Juliet’ premieres on most PBS stations and the PBS app on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET. As always, check your local listings.

The Heir: A Family Chronicle (De Stamhouder)

Retitled Legacy in the U.K. when it debuted as part of Walter Presents on Channel 4, The Heir: A Family Chronicle (De Stamhouder) is a 2023 Dutch miniseries, based on the late journalist Alexander Münninghoff’s best-selling book The Son and Heir: A Memoir. Matthijs van de Sande Bakhuyzen stars as Münninghoff in this deep dive into his family’s history and his struggle to come to terms with their Nazi allegiance during WWII.

All eight episodes of The Heir: A Family Chronicle will stream on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel on Friday, November 20, 2026.

Murder in the Mountains (SOKO Kitzbühel) Season 4

Season 3 of Murder in the Mountains (SOKO Kitzbühel) arrived in May 2026, six months after Season 2 arrived in November 2025. Another six months later, the series returns with 15 new episodes. The series is a little off in episode count; Walter Presents debuted Seasons 1 through 3 with 13 episodes each, despite SOKO Kitzbühel’s first season running only six installments and its second and third only 12. Season 4, meanwhile, ran 16 episodes, and Walter Presents lists 15, so the series seems to be catching up the longer it goes. SOKO Kitzbühel ultimately ran 20 seasons before it was replaced with the spinoff SOKO Linz (currently streaming on MHz Choice), so there’s plenty more to go.

All 15 episodes of Murder in the Mountains Season 4 debut on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel on Friday, November 27, 2026.

Miss Scarlet (& the Duke) Season 7

It’s the seventh and final season of the show formerly known as Miss Scarlet and the Duke, rebranded as Miss Scarlet. Since changing its name in Season 5, Miss Scarlet has also been offered as an early-access debut for PBS Passport members and PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel subscribers, and the final season will be no different, with all episodes arriving just after Thanksgiving weekend.

Miss Scarlet Season 7 will stream as an early-release binge for PBS Passport members and on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel beginning Sunday, November 29, 2026. The show’s official broadcast premiere is Sunday, January 17, 2027, at 8 p.m. ET, with episodes arriving weekly through the end of February.
