Sibling rivalry lasts forever.

One of Peacock’s more underappreciated aspects as a streamer is how many under-the-radar British and British-ish series it acquires, from U.K. networks like the BBC, but more frequently from its sister company under the Comcast umbrella, Sky TV. Granted, it doesn’t always promote them well (see also: Vigil and The Capture), but you can’t argue with the quality.

Luckily, thanks to the critical and commercial success of the Sarah Snook-led limited series All Her Fault, the streaming service’s miniseries have a slightly buzzier sheen these days. There’s every hope its latest female-fronted thriller, The Good Daughter, will find a similar audience.

Based on Karin Slaughter’s 2017 best-selling novel of the same name, the series follows the story of two estranged sisters whose family was the victim of a brutal attack when they were girls. Now, 20 years later, they’re drawn back together when another horrifying act of violence rocks their hometown. Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You) and Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus) star as Charlotte and Samantha, who are drawn into the new case while being forced to confront the many lingering secrets and emotions that remain from their own trauma.

Here’s the series synopsis.

The Good Daughter is a suspenseful thriller wrapped in a deeply emotional story about love, family and resilience. Sisters Charlotte and Samantha Quinn have spent the last 20 years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence. When another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte — now a lawyer like her father — is the first witness on the scene. As the case unfolds and twists through painful memories and buried secrets, what emerges is not just a story of survival, but of enduring ties between a father and his daughters, and the complex bond between sisters.

Alongside Fehy and Byrne, the series cast includes Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), Olivia Williams (The Crown), Michael Dorman (For All Mankind), Audrey Grace Marshall (Jessica Jones), presenter Harper Steele in a rare dramatic role, and small-screen newcomer Drew Ann Cheek.

Author Karin Slaughter adapted her own work for the small screen, with director Steph Green (The Americans) helming all installments. Both are also executive producers with Byrne, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, and Casey Haver for Made Up Stories.

The Good Daughter premieres with all episodes on Peacock on Thursday, November 12, 2026.
