‘Wrong Move’ Brings in the Right Cast
Channel 4's 'Wrong Move' explores the horror of moving house.
Moving house is the absolute worst, and that’s when everything goes smoothly. Packing up one’s entire existence into boxes and then reassembling it in a different space that said life wasn’t originally designed to fit is one of the most stressful experiences couples go through. Moreover, modern Western middle-class social mores promote the idea that success is measured by doing so multiple times: first with a “starter home,” then a “family home,” and finally a “forever home.” With the economy stagnant and wages no longer rising, one almost certainly needs to sell their current home to finance the next one in order to achieve this supposed leveling up.
That delicate balance is the premise behind Channel 4’s new series Wrong Move. A darkly comic thriller, it promises to “delve into the complicated lives of the people trying to take the next steps up the property ladder, and the misguided notion that moving house can fix everything.”
What happens when the domino chain of trading up collapses when the person at the very top of the chain deliberately changes their mind about selling their forever home, leaving multiple couples without their promised places to live? Wrong Move follows three couples who believe their lives are about to improve, only for their home sales to collapse when one seller pulls the plug at the last minute.

Here’s the series synopsis:
Michael and Catherine, a couple in their 40s, are attempting to save their marriage by moving into their “forever” home, which DS Trevor Bamford is selling to them. Their current “family home” is being sold to Stella and Juliette, whose family has outgrown their “starter home.” That starter home, in turn, is being sold to first-time buyers Asif and Emily. But when Trevor calls off the sale, the chain reaction turns deadly.

David Thewlis (The Artful Dodger) stars as the sociopathic Trevor; Rory Kinnear (The Diplomat) and Eve Myles (Gone) play Michael and Catherine; and Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark) rounds out the main leads as Stella. Gwyneth Keyworth (Death Valley) features as her partner Juliette; David Bradley (Game of Thrones) features as Arthur, Trevor’s father; Ali Khan (Everyone Else Burns) and small-screen newcomer Evie Kaisi play first-time home buyers Asif and Emily.
The rest of the ensemble includes Paul Bazely (Such Brave Girls), Laura Elsworthy (Wake Up Dead Man), Alex MacQueen (Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials), Ray Fearon (Champion), Austin Haynes (Adolescence), and Daisy Morgan (The Power).
The series was created by Ben Edwards (Miss Scarlet), who wrote all six episodes, with director Rene Pannevis (The Tower) helming all installments and Rebecca Davies producing. It is executive-produced by Ash Atalla & Alex Smith for Roughcut.
Filming for Wrong Move is underway in West Yorkshire. The series is expected to debut on Channel 4 in 2027. It does not yet have an American distributor.
