‘Marble Hall Murders’ Third Episode Is All Talk

It’s starting to seem like balance will be the main sticking point of Marble Hall Murders. The third episode of the season feels like a play, far too heavy on dialogue and light on action. There’s no denying this episode feels long, and it’s the excessive talking that’s bringing it down.

See Susan talk! She talks here, she talks there, she’s talking everywhere! Sometimes it seems like the only thing that changes is the background. Even when we’re in Pünd’s world, most of what happens between him and Vassilikos is just more talking as they interview leads and figure out the killer’s actions.

Does the plot feel a little thin to anyone else? The Pünd story seems on the verge of wrap-up, with Elmer almost certainly turning out to be the murderer. That’s disappointing because there was no mystery. He looked guilty from the start, which would have made him a great red herring.

Over in Susan land, Miriam Crace’s death was apparently not caused by the grandchildren. Instead, Eliot claims, publicly, he saw someone enter his grandmother’s room the night she died, and that she was poisoned. But is this just a publicity stunt?
